The General Patton Crown of Excellence has switched hands!

It was a bittersweet day for Karl Rove. 8 years from the time when he first made the news in the current President's primary campaigns, Rove had to pass the "Magnificent" crown to new Master Campaigner, John S. McCain after a nearly flawless several weeks of a campaign well run. The choice of Sarah Palin, was of course, what tipped the scales; but, one must wonder, with the hurricanes heading towards Nagin-town, did the Weather Machine come with it?

Ah yes. But even Rove, the Great, required some help from the outside, via political appointments, in order to work his magic.

Question ... does John deserve all the credit? A zillion thanks to the staffers that convinced him Joe Lieberman would make a horrible pick. Meanwhile, lots of things in the McCain camp have been going well and I suspect that’s due to some adult supervision. Who is Rove Jr.?

McCain will grow on you if you let him. He's like Patton in that he has not been on the defensive during this campaign. He's fast, mobile and he hits really hard.

Today he showed the world that he can think outside the box. The democrats are reeling.

I think you are probably right. I imagine that some people at the DNC are beginning to see that they are picked the wrong guy. They took their own advice too seriously. They pumped so much air into those tires that they burst.

You know McCain is a guy with the military in his blood. It would occur to him not to think only of this campaign but the war. Good officers are always looking for those who can step into their shoes when the time comes. It appears that McCain is one heck of a talent scout and recruiter. Good officers look for better men than themselves. Job well done, McCain.

Excellent points. Military training isn’t necessarily always for times of war. Sometimes it applies very well to life.

Outstanding photo Red Rover...I can just picture General Patton in the desert sands now as he lays his trap for the Desert Fox’s (Erwin Rommel) tanks and infantry to move into the box canyon and walk right into the jaws of our own Tank cannons and field cannons...It was a rout that day...and there will be a rout in Nov ‘08 when a war hero and great woman governor knock off a political nobody and a 3 time loser....

Almost makes you wonder if Ralph Nader decided on the Dems picks for Pres and VP...For that you can blame the Clintons because everything done was either an action to match her action, or a reaction against her...She dominated the whole time and the 2 wet RATS are just now realizing what happened....enjoy your cheese and double Brandies for breakfast boys...Around Oct 1 you can start skipping the cheese....bwahahaha....
