If negative posts were a reason to yank someone or a post, I would have been banned long ago. But passing spittle like this lie about Sarah’s child and impugning Sarah’s daughter are over the top. And the media hasn’t caught on yet that they are making a huge opportunity for John McCain to publicly denounce this crap, in defense of a Lady, thus scoring numerous points with female voters in the soccer/hockey Mom category. And you can bet it is coming, sooner rather than later.

I would never go so far as to suggest that a poster be removed for making negative posts, I just think that we should not waste the time or the band width to respond to such ridiculous accusations as we have seen since Sarah Pallin was chosen as VP. Such censorship is way too much like the tactics that the Obama campaign uses to cover up parts of the Obama meta-narrative that no longer fit the agenda.

Let’s review some of the parts of the Obama story that we aren’t supposed to talk about, starting with Obama’s middle name, Hussein. Now, why is the world should the use of his given middle name reflect poorly on us? We have used the middle names of most of the presidents that have gone before. It gives a sense of gravitas and stateliness to the name, usually.

Then there is the fact that Obama attended school in Indonesia for four years, where he received Islamic training in both the Catholic school and the Muslim school. Barry, I mean Barack, has stated that he doesn’t even speak another language, other than English, but my neighbor, who lived in Indonesia for thirty years says it would be impossible to attend school there for 4 years and not speak the language. She says that he would also have been taught some Arabic.
Why does Barack Obama not admit all this, if it was such a harmless part of his life.

Then we have all his associations that he now denies had any real meaning in his life, yet he can’t introduce us to anyone who did give his life meaning, except his wife.

He says that he wants to make life better for the poor and middle class people, but he can’t even help his own half brother who lives in a hut on $12 a month. Obama doesn’t help him buy a better house, but he says he’s going to help all the poor people who are going into foreclosure.

Kosta,
She and her family seem to be Assembly of God. Many of those churches take a view on contraception similar to the Roman Catholic Church does.

My brides uncle has a Downs son who was born when the mother was in her 40’s. They are faithful Catholics, and have been for all of their lives. Are they similarly stupid?

You folks are on this poster’s ping lists. Perhaps you can pound some softness into the heart of this somnambulent dolt

One of the things true conservatives preach and believe in is freedom of speach. Differences of opinion come with true demoracy.

Apprently, there are those who are so far to the right that they leave even true conservatives on the left. They are easy to spot because they can't handle dissenting opinions. You appear to be one fo them.

I used to take your posts somewhat seriously at one time. I will simply ignore them from now on because it seems you really have nothing constructive to say but bash.

Well, Kosta, before the mid-1960s, there were “literacy tests” used in certain Southern states as part of a package of “qualifications” used to keep African-Americans from the polls. Then we had the success of the Civil Rights movement. Thus, whatever the merits of voting licenses, we shall NEVER see them. I agree that our elections have become decided on much less than what they should be, but not just because of the lack of qualifications of some voters.

As for Sarah Palin, I am MUCH more concerned with the gross deficiencies of Biden, Obama, and McCain. Biden said that all Serbs should be put in Nazi-style concentration camps, and that they were “rapists, degenerates, etc.” Then I find out about his Ustashe connections. He’s pretty close to being a Nazi!

McCain may not be a Nazi, but he’s a KLA supporter who helped fund these terrorists, among other things. And he has documented Soros connections. So he’s not much better.

Obama has been advised by Brzezinski (and his son), Soros, and Samantha Power from the beginning. He is VERY slim on qualifications, and his rapid rise (often against opponents who suddenly become involved in a scandal) is VERY suspicious. Like McCain, he’s promised to “stand up to Russian aggression”. Either one could lead us into a new Cold War.

So there you have it—not a pretty picture at all. It all makes Sarah Palin’s family situation not much of an issue, and not one I’m qualified to judge, anyway.

I believe you were responding to post #216, which was someone else's rather lowlife response to my post #173.

I double-checked my post #173 and I can't find a word "stupid" anywhere in it.

Statements like yours above, when proven to be trumped-up, lose any effectiveness, redgolum. Please check before you shoot.

I called no one "stupid" in my post #173. I wonder, however, about people who have children at an advanced age, when the risk of Down's Syndrome is greatly increased.

This condition is debilitating and can be even devastating for both the parents and the affected children, and I can't imagine that any parent would wish to be the reason for their condition, especially since medical science warns parents against it, and because such condition is avoidable.

First their life expectancy is considerably shorter than that of (statistically) normal population, often survived by their parents. They are much more likely to have heart abnormalities, and are generally much more prone to illness. They also come with different degrees of learning disabilities, some of which make them unable to function in a society.

All this is avoidable. I am speaking as a person, realizing that some, because of their religious beliefs, may have a different opinion, but to me it is unfathomable for any parent to wish to take such a chance, especially when, due to advanced age of the mother, and to a much lesser degree of a father, the child is very likely to be born with some form of trisomy.

People who are either not careful enough or deliberately have children at an advanced age are simply disconcerted about the life they are about to bring forth. They can't claim ignorance because doctors warn about it in due time.

Sarah Palin’s conservative qualifications are beyond reproach and we need to defend her against these false, defamatory and despicable allegations.

With "Bug Zapper," as you suggest? Why don't we just OUTLAW dissenting opinions?!?

I agree, but I also think that when FReepers make negative posts that the post and possibly the FReeper should be removed

This is America, not USSR or Nazi Germany. American democratic tradition is founded on dissenting opinions.

Thank you, your posts are always appreciated. Yes, I am aware of the "literacy tests" and why they were used. So, instead of making sure more people are literate we discard literacy as a requirement?

Why don't we apply the same to schools and driving licenses? After all, they "discriminate" too. Somehow, we think that flying an airplane, or practicing medicine without a license is dangerous, but voting blindly for a person who can blow up the world isn't? It's not very complimentary to democracy, is it?

As for Sarah Palin, I am MUCH more concerned with the gross deficiencies of Biden, Obama, and McCain

I agree with every you wrote. But the subject in this case was her having a child at an age when the chance for that child being born handicapped because of maternal age, was extreely high.

Having a child under such conditions as an act of selfishness (perhaps), or impulsiveness (maybe), or, worse, ignorance (inexcusable), is not confidence-producing when we take into account that this same person can very easily be pushed into a position to blow up the world out of the same selfishness, impulsiveness or ignorance, o a combionation thereof!

I believe a president of a superpower like the US ought to be someone who is not selfish, impulsive or ignorant.

Yes, Binden is an honorary member of the Albanian American Congressional Caucus, and a staunch supporter of their cause along with Sen. Dole and late Rep. Lantos, and John McCain. He is also close to Croatian Ustasha elements (extreme Catholic connection). Not a stellar example of anything in opinion.

He is also not a true conservative, or for that matter true anything, as far as I am concerned. Have you read his biography? Nicknamed McNasty in high school. Also, he graduated fifth from the bottom of his Naval Academy class of over 600 cadets. He was well known for such "accomplishments" as being a "party animal" fly boy (how did he get a prestigious flight school being a near-flunky I will leave it to your imagination, reminding you that both his father and his grandfather at that time were Admirals!).

His squadron command in Jacksonville, Fl, was nothing to brag about; he was cheating on his wife at that time, and was "rewarded" with a promotion and sent to Hawaii to serve as a Navy Captain (O-6), in a capacity of a "Congressional Liaison," where he re-established his party animal "credentials" and where he met his current wife Cindy.

His voting record is full of controversies; he was often voting with most liberal Democrats on a variety of issues, and when it came to abortion he voted against it but voted for stem cell research! No one knows what McCain is up to next. That doesn't make me very confident he is the right pick either.

As a fellow retired Naval Officer, I salute him for his ordeal as a POW. But being a POW does not make one qualified for president. I wish he would stop using that horrible experience as "qualification."

Finally, I ask myself: is this the best the Republican Party can come up with? Is there no other talent available? I know for a fact that there are decorated war veterans in respectable gubernatorial positions, or in Congress, who would fill his shoes much better. I think Gov. Huckaby would have done much better too.

The Republican Party doesn't need mavericks, and people who will reinvent themselves, nor neocons, nor RINOS, because they have not been good for the Party in my opinion.

Obama has been advised by Brzezinski (and his son), Soros, and Samantha Power from the beginning Obama simply stole the show first. He is winging it as he fgoes along. I am sure he would have picked a woman if he could find a respectable candidate with sufficient foreing policy credintials to augment his campaign. Madeliene Albright (not that I like her!) comes to mind. But she probably would not have anything to do with him.

We better get used to having Obamas to run against. If Obama doesn't get elected in 2008, it's only a matter of time before we get another Obama running for president and being elected. That is a satistical certainty and part of 21st century American reality.

I agree that he doesn't have much to run on, except the fact that the most unpopular US President in American history is from the other party! He doens't need anything of his own; the Bush Administration provided everything he needs to win.

Brezinski, of course, is the one who called the Taliban the "soldiers of God" when it was suitable to support them against the Soviets, followng that old addage: "they may be thugs but they are our thugs."

The democrat party is 100% pro-abortion

Assuming the Republican Party is, say, 50%, what difference does it make to the aborted fetuses?!?

You are (sadly) confusing “women's rights” (in general) with “requiring abortion be state promoted” - which is, of course, the NOW position. THEY are the ones who hate and oppose Palin for being pro-life, despite the fact that she Palin is more a more successful “woman” than any NOW member.

I have nothing nice to say about NOW. I am also not opposing Palin. I never mentioned any opposition to he rpolitically. I simply question her judgment, not her faith, character or political saviness. It doens't inspire confidence in me that she is the person to be potentially in a position to decide to press the button or not.

Let's see if you can put aside your prejudiced hatred of HER love for HER children for a moment

I hate no one. I only hate sin, mine and everyone else's, a least in principle.

As governor, she is responsible for the Alaskan National Guard, and her state citizens who are in the Army and Air Force in Iraq

As Alaskan Governor, she is in command of her Guard while that Guard is in Alaska. When the National Guard is released by the Governor for other than in-state service, it falls under a different chain of command.

These were wounded Alaskan Arny (and Alaskan Army National Guard) who couldn't leave the hospital

Where does it say that?

Are you going to claim THAT'S a waste of taxpayer money?

Perhaps you can tell me what did she accomplish by traveling to Germany on her taxpayers' money for a photo shoot opportunity with an obviously ambulatory patient (in full uniform) that would make such a trip (entourage included) worth the money?
