Opinion: Sarah Palin is Truly Pro-Life, Daughter Bristol has Made the Right Choice

First of all, Sarah Palin is a woman who lives what she proclaims. She is truly pro-life. She and her husband Todd knew that their last child, Trigg, had an extra chromosome. He was a “Downs” child. What did they do? They welcomed him as a special gift and showed the whole world that every human life is a gift to be received and not a “problem” to be “dealt with” by the always deadly “choice”, of abortion.

Now, the news has emerged that Sarah and Todd’s seventeen year old daughter, Bristol, is pregnant with her own child. Yes, pregnant outside of marriage. Well, I understand what they are going through. Having raised five children, including three daughters,it does happen. We cannot make our children’s choices for them. We can only pray that when one of those choices results in the gift of life out of the ordinary course, they will choose to respect the life of the child conceived. I have lived this as a father, and as a grandfather, and I resent the arrogance of those who now raise it in an effort to discredit Sarah Palin.

In fact, the Palin's have only confirmed me in my conviction that the Governor of Alaska is a great asset to John McCain and just the kind of leader which we need to stand at the side of the next President of the United States.Bristol Palin acknowledges that she is five months pregnant and unmarried. She and the father of this child have properly exercised their freedom of choice. They have done so morally. They have chosen life.

I just read part of the Daily Kos not only are they hammering Bush again with oft repeated lies and innuendo, and Sarah Palin and her daughter Bristol are really getting abused. Freepers somehow we have to expose the Kos for what it is along with Fact Check which is an over the top apologist for Obama.

B. Hussein Obama has a lot of explaining to do if we can just get a word in edge wise....Bill Ayers and his education program is the one Obama is talking about when he says he will over haul public education if elected. He and William Ayers and his education advisor on his staff, Professor Darling-Hammond is also a friend of Ayers. The Annenberg Challenge was both Ayers and Obama's education organization whose papers are still locked up, I think. We have to get the American people to look at this trumped up American who is in fact a Socialist determined to use the HOPE and CHANGE of the Black Liberation Theology. All had better study that Marxist Theology. The Left in this country are fighting for their lives and will tell you that Obama has nothing to hide even when he tries to stop ads and books…..sound familiar?

Yup. Perhaps as many as 4 elections with Palin on the ballot.
She’ll bring independent women, blue collar, small town, union.

The Dems will be left with blacks and liberals.

The Dems know this and are panicked.

**We in America are being given such an open and shut case of choosing a culture of life over a culture of death.**

Indeed we are!

Indeed.

If anything, the events of the last three days have made me like the Palins even more than I already did.

God Bless their entire family.

As the mother of a 17 yr. old I will tell you this, we can teach and preach 24/7 but even the best of kids do things that we would hope they wouldn’t. My son, while a great kid did some boneheaded things this summer. What I told him was it is how you handle situations after the fact that shows your character.

I don’t believe this will hurt her one bit, not with millions of families dealing with the trials and tribulations that go along with raising teenagers. Instead it shows her families strength.

They are calling Sarah Palin a hypocrite for supporting abstinence only to have it revealed that her daughter is 5 months pregnant. The Left is saying that if only she supported birth control for kids this wouldn’t have happened. Well lets think about that.

I have two children, 8 and 12 years old. Soon this will be an issue with me and my wife, and believe it or not, we support abstinence. Can our kids disobey or disregard our wishes? Of course they can, and there would be little we could do, save lock thm up 24/7, to prevent that.

I don’t want my kids to smoke. So I support laws that don’t allow kids under 18 to buy tobacco. Does that also make all of us hypocrites? I mean, some teens, under 18, still choose to smoke. Perhaps we should just give them Malboros in Junior High.

I don’t want my kids to drink alcohol as well. Society and the state doesn’t want them to either, and hence the law says you must be at 21 years old to buy alcohol, and yet, once again, kids still drink, often with terrible and frightening consequences. Are we all hypocrites because of these laws? Should we simply let them drink, but draw the line on driving and drinking? Then what hypocrites will we be when some still get behind the wheel, despite our “cold-hearted preaching”?

Did I mention illegal drugs? They’re illegal for everyone! Yet people still abuse them. A whole war on drugs for 50 years hasn’t stopped the roughly 5-10% or so that habitually abuse them despite the laws, penalties, major disruption to their lives and often even death. Are we therefore all hypocrites?

We need to be against bad behavior, and even not so bad behavior when it can destroy lives. That is the moral thing to do. We cannot, however, stop the truly determined or those who don’t listen, or succumb to the moment. This does not, and never will make us hypocrites.

I honor Sarah Palin’s “choice” after the fact in continuing her pregnancy. But does a pregnancy well past the age of 40, when risk of Down Syndrome is substantially greater, qualify as leading by example?

Juno: Teen gets pregnant, decides against abortion, and gives the baby up for adoption to a loving mom.

Juneau: Teen gets pregnant, marries her boyfriend, and jumps into adulthood.

In both cases, a beautiful child is born.

Thanks for posting this. You don’t have to be an Evangelical to support the Palin family, as this article shows. The right to life is the most important and fundamental right of all.

“Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,” as it says in the Declaration of Independence, are the most fundamental rights on which our country is based.

What this attack on a young lady by the MSM has brought out in response is yet more evidence that this is a strong and loving family. Also, that Sara Palin is a strong lady, prepared to deal with a crisis in the right way when it unexpectedly arises.

Have you ever heard of a “surprise” pregnancy? Do we really have the right to question how a person gets pregnant? by choice or accident?

Really...do you think that anyone should ask her about this???? Have you not heard of women in their 40s having an accidental pregnancy because of cycle changes??? I sure have!!

It’s an obedience issue. Like you, I have had “great kids” do stupid things. We KNOW they know better! Yet, the flesh is weak all the same.
It goes back to the Garden of Eden. If the children of the Lord didn’t obey back then, why are we surprised that they don’t obey now?

I'm gonna say this here and hope it's the last time I repeat myself. I see Bristol's baby as God's Gift to Trig. They will be close in age and will grow up together. And Bristol's little one may grow up to be Trig's adult caretaker. God is soooooooooo good! Try to look at situations from a higher point of view . . . climb on a ladder if you must . . . think "what's God showing in this situation?" The answer is usually "a lot."

You're assuming that her pregnancy was planned.
