Bob Shrum: The Improvisational McCain (The Serial Loser on Palin - Barf Alert)
The Week Daily ^ | September 1, 2008 | Bob Shrum

Last week, Frum dared Barack Obama to be dull when giving his acceptance speech. As it happened, the Democratic nominee proved both soaring and substantive. He confounded critics who harped on his supposed lack of specifics -- for months, he’s had an encyclopedia’s worth -- without sacrificing his singular capacity to speak to hearts as well as minds.

So we don't want a president that can improvise? Huh?

If picking Governor Palin was such a losing proposition, why attack her? Why not let her "self-implode" as some wag has said? I think the left doth protest too much and is whistling past the graveyard. I don't think Senator McCain's pick of Governor Palin was mainly about snaring the Hillary PUMAs, it was about shoring up the base and picking off the independents. If it helps with the PUMAs, so much the better.

(Sarah Palin, a neophyte governor, as a candidate for the second-highest office in the land. )

As opposed to a neophyte Senator as a candidate for the first highest office in the land???
I constantly wonder if the people that write this stuff are as stupid as they sound or if the truly believe that we are as stupid as they seem to think we are..........

I would be afraid if Shrum is cool to Palin. S/

BTW, does the phrase “Whistling pas the graveyard” mean that someone is afraid?

Sarah Palin is the most extreme candidate on a major party ticket since Barry Goldwater in 1964.

Except of course for Barry Obama in 2008, or Michael Dukakis, or George McGovern. Here of course is where I stopped reading.

Good catch on the "serial loser" part. How many Presidential elections has Bob Shrum won? How many has he lost? I don't have a number, but the answer to how many he's lost is easy - ALL OF THEM.

“Sarah Palin is the most extreme candidate on a major party ticket since Barry Goldwater in 1964”

really? Kill a moose and eat it, and you are more extreme than someone supporting the killing of a baby after the baby is born?

“Sarah Palin is the most extreme candidate on a major party ticket since Barry Goldwater in 1964.”

The old loser said the same thing about Ronald Reagan.

The Week Daily is the most accidentally satirical name I’ve seen in ages. Frum & Shrum should take their loser act on the road.

See your party’s choices in Iraq. 1 Against it. 1 For the war. The surge Both against it. One even wanted to divided the country. Both said we would lose in Iraq even with the surge. Boy we want them and their Judgement. Georgia Obama want to take Russia to UN until days later he was told Russia had a veto. Experince? The other wanted to surrender why Reagon won the cold war against the USSR. Judgement.

"...according to The Huffington Post..."

Now there's an unbiased investigative journalist organization if there ever was.

Bob, you loser, you need to get off the Plantation a little more often.

Let’s see, Shrum recommends against picking Palin. Judging by his track record, that makes her the perfect pick.

A pro-choice horrible candidate like Ridge or Lieberman would have sunk McCain to 30% of the vote......Bob Barr would have beaten him.
