First impressions matter, and for the past several days, Americans haven’t exactly seen the most positive view of the new face on the political scene.

Kind of like, oh, America's first impressions of Katie Couric doing evening news. Right, See B.S.?

Whatever the opinion of a person from one party towards their opponents, it's best not to underestimate the opposition. Obama can definitely give effective speeches. Effective in the sense of his speeches impelling him or impeding him. Dubya is obviously not a great orator although he has given effective speeches. Palin however can give an impressive speech as well as an effective one.

The best part of Obama's campaign is his appearance and his speeches. They don't have to be grounded in reality or make a lick of sense (and they don't), they just have to further his campaign. Bill Clinton could do that (nobody could fake sincerity like Ole Bill), Gore couldn't. Libs who are dismissing Palin's speeches because they hate conservative Republicans should not make that mistake. Hopefully their "misunderestimation" of Palin continues up to the election.
