thanks for that
For anyone saying having sly digs about the country then I suggest you go to England for a visit
I do believe that is against the law - even in Britain.

You beat me to it.
I doubt that.
What's the charge? Poor vacation planning? Conspiracy to plan vacations poorly?
yes it is
actually a new law is about what says you cannot discriminate against anyone who is or has been a service member
I’m against lawsuits but on this
I hope this lad gets a lawyer and takes the owner for everything
Disgusting,
Kipling has lots of good things to say on a wide range of topics. When my kids were little, I used to rock them to sleep by reading them Kipling’s poetry.
They all grew up conservatives.
Of course, you could kind of guess I am a Kipling fan. Look at my Freepname.
no - hospitality related regulations only allow one to turn away a potential guest or customer for specific reasons and being in the military is not one of them. You can’t refuse a black man either, but you can refuse a drunk, as I understand them from days gone by.
There will always be an England!
But I guess you were commenting on the subject of the thread in general.
see post #16 above
I noticed those when I posted the link. They're getting hammered.
Did any of you read the comments to the article. I’m proud to have Brit blood in me. It seems that quite a few of the people on the “wrong” side of the pond ain’t none to happy about making a active-duty soldier who is on leave for an injury which occurred during action in a war sleep in a car.
The owners of the Metro Hotel are definately the Twits of the Year!

That I doubt of a country that refuses to stand up to Muslims. France will go first.
This happens many times every night here in this country.
I have come across it twice . Once was several weeks ago when I overheard a young man asking someone else where he could get a room where they did not require you to be over 21. He had been turned down at a dozen or so motels. I didn't pay much attention as he explained that he had driven almost all the way across the country and couldn't go any further until he said "I have orders..."
Several of my neighbors own hotels and I am continually doing favors for them of one sort or another. They owe me. Within ten minutes the young man had rather nice quarters for the night...comp.
The second instance was several years ago when a very pretty young lady was in the same situation. She had been looking for "hours". IIRC she had no money but was traveling with her father's credit card. Of course she was turned down for that and being underage. Again a phone call resolved her problem.
The issue rests on the social split. Hotels do not want to rent to unaccompanied young people. They end up with drug and drinking parties. So they blanket ban all underage people and young military are caught in the middle.
Apparently, American owned. Bet you ten bucks the company is run by American Muslims.
If I were a Brit Pol...I’d be doing everything I could, to strip that hotel(chain) of all of it’s licenses/permits. and then sue the crap out of them on every charge I could make stick.
