ABC News' Jennifer Duck Reports: You might say Todd Palin was part of the First Wives Club today at the Minneapolis Hilton in "a Tribute to Cindy McCain."
Elisabeth Hasselbeck of "The View" was MC at the luncheon and introduced Cindy McCain and Todd Palin as "the next First Lady and future first Second Man."
Hasselbeck added, "You better get your game face on because America fell in love with your wife last night."

The line I like: "I should've asked a few more questions when Sarah joined the PTA," Palin joked.

I saw this on C-Span. He’s not really a speaker, but he did just fine I suppose. Also, Jon Voight was there. He’s not a speaker either.
To: RDasher
John Voight was there too?
That guy's at all the conservative venues lately.

"He's a lifelong commercial fisherman, a production operator in the oil fields of Alaska's North Slope, a proud member of the United Steel Workers' Union, and world champion snow machine racer," Palin said in her address to the Republican National Convention Wednesday night.
Snow machine racer? That must be Alaska-speak. (We call 'em snowmobiles here in Mexifornia.)
To: camerongood210
I imagine just from looking at him and how he carries himself and his working in the oil industry and Alaska’s fishing industry, he’ll never in the category of a ‘second husband’ or whatever the naysayers might call him. He’s not at all wimpy or unmasculine. He’s perfect for this role.
To: CottonBall
No.. it is snow machine racer.. not snow mobile racer.
Snow machines are enclosed and can go into harsher weather conditons.

(We call 'em snowmobiles here in Mexifornia.) That's why America is suspect of anything in that state. They are snowmachines anywhere there is real snow.
When I lived in the Adirondack Mountains, there would always be that drunken Sunday when the augers would come out and the fellows would start crossing water and throwing rooster tails until the hole got so big one would sink in the lake.
You north country people know what I mean.

Second Man? Is that really the word to describe his position? I know that it’s drawn from ‘First Lady’, but it sounds awkward to me...

“First Gentleman” would be technically correct I would wager, from a style guide or ettiquette book. Modern sensibilities wouldn’t allow for that of course.
To: RDasher
Todd Palin makes Liberal womens' heads explode. They're stuck with metrosexual girly-men (or a battery operated companion) while the still-hot '80s chick has a handsome
real man who's equally happy doing outdoor labor or being Mr. Mom while she shatters glass ceilings.
Life now really sucks for Liberal women.
HA!

All I’m saying is the guy wasn’t quite that eloquent. I don’t know what he stands for, but as far as I can tell he would do just fine.
To: RDasher
Today Rush said that Elizabeth mentioned at this tribute that when Michelle Obama appeared on the View, she had a list of subjects NOT to talk about regarding Obama. When Cindy McCain appeared on the View, she did not have a list.
Surprising?
To: what's up
After his thing with the WaPost, he probably doesn’t have many options. From the times I’ve seen him on H&C and elsewhere, I like his positions.
To: Rio
No, the snow machines they race are snowmobiles to most people in the Lower 48. What you have pictures is NOT a snow machine or a snow go.

I don’t have anything against the guy. I was just making a point that there is a reason Sarah is the politician and he’s not.
He was on Deadliest Catch? I didn’t know that.
To: RDasher
This is great! Good, clean, honest, fun!
I love those lines.
I’m glad to see Jon Voight appear more and more.

To: paudio
How about just “Sarah’s husband”? She made it clear last night that he’s his own man.
To: camerongood210
He was on Deadliest Catch? I didnt know that. You miss the point. Regroup. You're in the right town. Just on the wrong street.

In 1927, the first patent for a snowmobile was issued to Carl J. Eliason of Sayner, Wisconsin. The patent listed Eliason’s invention as a snow machine.

Yes, Denys (I think) Thatcher was called simply “Mr. Thatcher.” And in spite of all the jokes in the press, it’s clear in Margaret Thatcher’s books that she respected and admired him for his personal accomplishments and character, just as Gov. Palin seems to do for Mr. Palin.

Thanks. Looks like ‘snow machine’ is the correct terminology then.

its clear in Margaret Thatchers books that she respected and admired him for his personal accomplishments and character, just as Gov. Palin seems to do for Mr. Palin.
I loved it when she said he was still her guy. The feminazis would likely hate that. (Although, they do seem to like her since Hillary is no longer an option.)
