Long before sex, lies and texting caused Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick to plead guilty to two felonies and resign on Thursday, he and Barack Obama shared a warm man-hug before a huge Motown crowd. It came 16 months ago, as Obama was launching his campaign for president with a scalding speech to the Detroit Economic Club upbraiding Detroit's automakers for not building more fuel-efficient cars. But while that speech gave Obama green street-cred, his praise of Kilpatrick as a "great mayor" who will do "astounding things for many years to come" backfired. As Kilpatrick now heads to jail for four months, for obstruction of justice, two attack ads have already appeared on the Web replaying Obama's Kwame moment. One, produced by the conservative Freedom's Defense Fund and soon going into heavy rotation on Detroit TV stations, shows Kilpatrick's mug shot, as the 10 felonies he faced scroll down the screen while Obama says, "I'm grateful to call him a friend." The ad ends ominously with the line: "You should know who Obama's friends are."

when your ‘demographic’ (lacking a better adjective) is overwhelmingly enslaved to one political party, you are screwed.
If all left-handed people (chill, lefties, this is only an analogy), suddenly decided to vote Democrat. The Democrat party would take them for granted and still pander to the right-handed majority on the issues important to lefties.
When Republicans have 80-90% majorities in certain congressional districts, they tend to get poor representation because their is no threat to the continued survival of the Representative and he is free to stray and ‘reach across the aisle’ or do whatever else he wants because he/she faces no threat.
Just look at the House members with the highest re-election vote percentages. They are almost uniformly the worst people in Congress. Think: Maxine Waters. Nancy Pelosi. Charles Rangel. Duke Cunningham. Don Young. Patrick Kennedy.
‘Black’ people don’t deserve any better representation than those they elect. I’m done feeling sorry for them. I’ll reach out to anybody who is so politically retarded as to vote for people who treat them like crap. Why would I want those idiots in my tent? I’ll reach out to people who own businesses, raise families and want to start business regardless of their color because those people NEED representation.
Gee, where’s the media clip of obama praising this guy not to long ago. One more nail to add to his coffin of crimnials and radicals.
THE MEDIA IS DOING A GRAVE INJUSTICE TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC BY HIDING ALL THIS INFORMATION.
From a former Metro Detroit residence, it won’t matter. He will probably run for another position and win.
Thanks for the video links.
I remember in a prior lifetime I was meeting with three members of the District of Columbia city council in a consulting role on a program they wanted to run.
I asked them about Marion Barry (who had been busted by then). They all said ‘oh, don’t worry. He’ll be back.’. I was like ‘huh???’ But they were just matter-of-fact about it like it was inevitable. None of them were happy about it but they were completely expecting to see him again. And sure enough, he won the At-Large seat on the City Council a couple years later.
It’s all about who you own favors to and who owes you. There are still crooks in Detroit who haven’t gotten their favors cashed in yet so they will need Kwame or a different Kwame to fulfill their criminal wishes.
They need some deep investigation and exposure. Bottom to top.
“... soon going into heavy rotation on Detroit TV stations..”
Why would a conservative group waste its money showing an anti Obama spot in Detroit? Detroit??? Why????????
I can’t remember his name at the moment but remember the guy in DC. He could have killed his mother and they would have elected him. Nagin, is another prime example. Who cares about competence?
If you would like to be added or dropped from the Michigan ping list, please freepmail me.
Thanks, but no. I hope I never have to go back to that place. I am so happy to be home in Kentucky.
Whats sad is that most of his constituancy would re-elect him if he were to run again given their level of paranoia and victimization. His platform would highlight his unwarranted persecution and would reinforce their delusions and their decision to vote for him..

I'm not sure what you are referring to...
BTW, I lived in Ft Knox for the first two years of my marriage. Kentucky is absolutely amazing! I can't wait until my kids are all old enough to do the 6+ hour spelunk through Mammoth. Just a few more years!
I want that ad running in white suburbs.
Its actually surprising to see anyone in the media covering this.
