COLORADO SPRINGS — In just the second day of campaigning together, Republican Presidential nominee John McCain and his running mate, Sarah Palin, gave a command performance of their convention week speeches to a crowd of more than 10,000 here.

McCain and Palin hit popular notes from their big-stage speeches by promising to rein in government spending, lead America to energy independence and win the war in Iraq.

"There's no place more appropriate than here in Colorado Springs, with all the great service of people from here, to tell you this: We are winning in Iraq," McCain said, drawing some of the biggest cheers of his 15-minute speech.

Yeah, I'm such a terrible person. I know. After all, nothing says "bigotry " like criticizing a woman who dresses like an escaped mental patient. Why I've personally seen dirt poor migrant workers who sport a better wardrobe.........

This is the best they can do?

LOLOL!

Don’t forget that when Barackstar was pulling in huge crowds, he often had free rock concerts right before he’d show up to the rally.

No wonder the media/Dems are working so hard to destroy Palin. If they thought she was the lightweight non-entity that they claim she is, they’d just ignore her like Republicans are doing with Biden.

I pledge to not hold any politician in too high esteem, for in granting them adulation one grants them excessive power, and not only is that power not theirs, but inevitably it corrupts to the core.

That being said, this picture literally brings tears to my cynical eyes. God bless the good people of Colorado Springs and all the other towns of the USA!

Actually, Republicans now outnumber Democrats and Independents here. I don't think the state will go for Obama. Not after what we saw today in Colorado Springs!

An impressive turn out but Colorado Springs is conservative.

Its a Defense oriented town.
Denver is Dem Blue. Still.....Very impressive

I would like to see them book the duo into a venue that can handle a large crowd. Seems like they are always in a place where the crowd is too big for the space, and people are turned away. Do like 0bama did, book them into a large football stadium that is geared for big crowds. I suspect we would fill Tampa Stadium any day of the week if they had McCain/Palin speaking!

Note to nObama:

Have more free concerts to draw warm bodies. The media cannot fake the non-crowds much longer.

McCain is now probably stunned at what happens when you make nice
with the Republican base.
(Heck, I know I am after seeing the photos on this thread!)

Without Palin, I suspect that crowd would be significantly smaller.

Remember, Colorado Springs is home-base for James Dobson’s “Focus
on The Family” and some mega-churches (Ted Haggard’s former flock)

McCain could count on the military families in the area...but with
Palin, the ranks have swollen.

Whoaa! is that Cindy “lauper” McCain?

She is an independent woman, and always has been. She dresses like one, at her own expense.

Nothing wrong with that. I like her style. I wouldn't have the guts to pull it off, but it really works for Cindy.

When she has to, she wears a pink cast on her right wrist due to a recurring wrist injury.

I like her. :-D

McCain’s new cast of thousands, all unknown

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2076296/posts

“Since setting out from St. Paul Thursday night with his new running mate Sarah Palin, John McCain is for the first time being regularly welcomed by Obama-style crowds.

A midday rally Saturday at an airport hangar here seems to have pulled McCain’s third straight showing of over 10,000 attendees... Staff had projected only 1,000 to show up yesterday for a morning rally in a Milwaukee suburb, they said, while an estimated 12,000 ended up flooding Cedarbury’s small-town streets.”

Dunno. I just heard a blurb on ABC.

McCain sounds energized. Barama sounds rattled and unsure
