Having spent a great deal of time in Colo. Springs over the years I can assure you BO will never pull the kind of enthusiastic crowds that McCain/Palin did today. Never happen in El Paso county ... ever.

The number I saw was 12K in the speaking area, plus another 36K who couldn’t be fit into the speaking area—and probably had to hear it on loudspeakers.

My family and I went this morning. 10,000 free tickets were given away as a way for the fire marshall to limit the size of the croud. A few extras came (as ticket control was not really enforced) plus the 100 or so volunteers did not need tickets, so I would say 11K was the right number. 11K was what was announced at the rally.

I did not see a large crowd of 35K listening on speakers. I’m sure just the 11K were there.

Do you know if the 2nd plane there says McCain-Palin? I’m a little confused by the first picture in this post because it just had McCain, but another FReeper posted his pics earlier and the plane had McCain-Palin. So I was wondering if they were from the same event but just have different planes in the shot.
