“Wouldn’t it be great if McCain-Palin took NM!”

Wouldn’t it be great if McCain-Palin took all 57 states!

IMHO, they are shaking in their boots. McCain-Palin are rocking the boat (and rocking the nation). That can't be a comforting thing to any professional politician (Democrat or Republican) Change comes hard, in both parties.

I came of age during the campaign of 1980 and the rise of Ronald Reagan. Never since, until now, has a GOP candidate inspired this much enthusiasm. I think Sarah Palin is going to be sticking around for a while. Like for the next 12-16 years.

Also, media was still primitive during the 1980 campaign. I was only exposed to Reagan by ABC, CBS and NBC news (as well as the daily newspapers). This was way before CNN, FoxNews, C-SPAN, Internet, Free Republic, talk radio, etc. Imagine the impact somebody like Reagan would have in the Internet age! With Sarah Palin, we just might find out what it might have been like.

PALINDEMONIUM

That's the word for it! Did you come up with that yourself?

Straight from my heart to my keyboard.

But I just now googled it, to see if anyone else had already thought of it. . . and, alas, there are already 1500 other hits out there . . . so great minds are thinking alike . . . it’s like the dawning of a new age . . . mass epiphanies . . .

At this point Gov. Palin needs to start taking the spotlight of herself and REALLY endorsing Sen. McCain. I wasn't wild about McCain, heck, I'm still not, but Gov. Palin has made me believe in the GOP again.

She has “it”. Chills every time for me, and I don't agree with her 100%. I just appreciate how genuine she seems.

Also, media was still primitive during the 1980 campaign.

I'll say. I happened to be calling on Borden in downtown Columbus, Ohio one day, and I noticed some barricades set up on the Capitol lawn. I asked someone what was going on, and he told me, "Ronald Reagan's going to speak there at 12:30."

It was 11:30, so I got a sandwich at a diner, walked across the street to one of the bleachers, got a seat, and at 12:30 Ronald Reagan appeared onstage and gave his campaign address.

I was so close that, after the speech, I got to shake his hand. My most vivid memory was Nancy staring at me as if trying to identify who I was, then making sure I wasn't going to do RR any harm.

After the rally, I went about the rest of my day.

I think now Obama cannot possibly “win big”. Only McCain can win big. Obama can still win, but he is going to have to have the mother of all new voter turnouts, busloads of Chicago citizens going to WI and Ohio and the like.

Great rally, but I hope she has more than her convention speech rehashed. I know she has more than that in her. The campaign advisors need to cut her loose and let her say some new stump material. In this age, everybody hears what a politician says ad infinitum. Now is the age to mix it up a bit- or is the general public so dense that they need to have a message pounded home so repeatedly?

Usually his campaign appearences would attract hundreds. In the last weeks before the VP pick, a few thousand. This consistant attraction of crowds of 10K+ is unusual for ANY Republican candidate in recent memory.

Even GWB? Seems he had some huge ones. How about Dems? Do they always get big ones like Obama?

Depends on the Dem. Bill Clinton was having problems getting crowds this year and so was .. uh... Biden

By the way. Large crowds don’t mean much in the long run. George McGovern use to draw huge crowds.

To: I'm ALL Right!

Can someone explain to me what one of the speakers said today? Not sure if it was John Suthers or Bob Schaeffer. Anyway, he said something about “Silver Salazar” and Thanksgiving and then applauded him. It lost me but did it mean one of the Salazar’s was rooting for McCain which the speaker said put his COUNTRY FIRST? Hope someone can help me with this. It was confusing.
