Return of the wimp factor? (Poll: GOP better than Dems on national security)

In his acceptance speech at Invesco Field, Barack Obama insisted that Democratic presidents could keep America safe, but couldn’t come up with an example more recent than 45 years ago. While Obama invoked FDR and JFK, voters apparently began thinking of Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton. The wimp factor has returned with a vengeance according to a new poll, and Democrats now find themselves back to their 2004 status on national security:

One of the most notable polling results at the time of the 2006 elections was that Democrats had closed the national-security gap versus Republicans who held a long and significant advantage in that area. That was short-lived.

Unfortunately for Democrats, the gap has reopened. Democrats are regaining the reputation with voters as wimps.

Greenberg, Quinlan, Rosner has just released a survey that indicates that voters perceive Republicans once again as far and away better on national security issues than Democrats.

Forty nine percent of those surveyed thought Republicans were better on national security while 35 percent thought Democrats better. When it came to combating terrorism, 48 percent thought Republicans superior to Democrats while 33 percent gave Democrats the advantage.

Carter and Clinton? National Defense? (LMFAO). These two traitorous maggots did more to destroy our military capability than any other presidents in recent decades....and I wonder why Obamunism did not mention HARRY TRUMAN? The one DimoRAT that had guts to make hard military decisions.

Democrats weak on national security.

Republicans strong on national security.

Duh.

It has always been that way since the Eisenhower administration.

We can take it on faith that a Republican president is going to be less likely to get rolled over by the biggest America-haters and bullies of the world than any left wing Democrat could. But Americans, citizens of the biggest military and economic power in the world, want to spend the next four years attaining prosperity instead of hunkering down for a siege. Can Republicans promise that?

Then it's the CROOK factor that Republicans need to focus on next. Democrats are the biggest spenders and purveyors of fiscal insanity in Washington. Democrats are the biggest merchants of political patronage. Democrats want to tax the life out of this economy and see economic stagnation as a means to power. Democrats put environmental special interest groups ahead of people who want to drive their cars to work. Democrats support powerful unions instead of workers. Democrats want to take away your power to get the health care you need and educate your children the way you want them educated. Republicans should in turn realize that actions after an election matter more to voters than words before an election.

Of course, Republicans are better on national security. I changed parties because of this, not just this actually, but it was a big part of the reason for the switch. Republicans are better on 9 out of 10 of my issues

National Security - this one is the most important, because none of the others matter to me if my children are targets.

Taxes - Even I know increasing payroll taxes hurts the working poor more than gov. programs will help a lot of working poor people don’t like to get gov. handouts.

Health Care Reform- I am anti-national health care. I do think that personal health care accounts could be set up and if the money in the account is there for a certain period of time you can get some back. No, I don’t have all the details hammered out, but I think people should control their own money and that includes not having to give it to some insurance company.

Social Security- same deal as health care, personal accounts at least 75% of money paid in shoud go into personal accounts.

Education- vouchers are a great idea

Abortion- I wouldn’t get rid of it as an option as much as I want to. But, I would put more restrictions on it, especially for teens(serioiusly how do you justify making a teen decide a life or death situation when they aren’t even eligible to vote), I might even make it law that husbands are notified. The current situation is just nuts.

Envirnment- This is the issue I thing Republicans falter on. I would like to see the party go a bit more green(I am for drilling, it isn’t going to hurt Alaska any more than drilling hurts Texas)but, it would be nice to see the Spirit of Teddy Roosevelt injected into the party a bit more.

Foriegn Policy- Republicans are more likely to be the bomb them into submission party. I don’t believe diplomacy works with terrorists.

Guns- I don’t have one, but if I want one, I want to be able to get one.

Gay marriage- Civil Unions are fine and I think Constitutional. I seriously doubt our Fore Fathers would approve of Gay Marriage. It isn’t like they didn’t know gays existed. I don’t seriously care about this one. But, it is still on the list.

Anyway it isn’t just national security that Democrats fail on they fail on 9 out of 10 issues.
