When Barack's berserkers lost the plot
The Guardian UK ^ | Sept 7, 2008 | Nick Cohen

My colleagues in the American liberal press had little to fear at the start of the week. Their charismatic candidate was ahead in virtually every poll. George W Bush was so unpopular that conservatives were scrambling around for reasons not to invite the Republican President to the Republican convention.

The UK media have done a much better job of late covering this campaign than our liberal Obama lapdog media here in the US.

He never told them to stop, he attack proofed himself by saying his mother was 18 when he was born. That was completely self serving and basically holding the press’ coat.

“...they succumbed to a spasm of hatred and threw the vase, the crockery, the cutlery and the kitchen sink at an obscure politician from Alaska. “

Earlier today I saw this article posted on du with an “I told you so” admonishment.

But as the thread progressed, the dUmmies there succumbed to a spasm of hatred and threw the vase, the crockery, the cutlery and the kitchen sink at a once obscure politician from Alaska.

They just cant help themselves!

Especially the UK. I suspect they long for the Days of Maggie when that country had a bit more self respect.

she did not send her son to iraq. Track made the decision to serve. his upbringing may have been instrumental in the decision but it wasn’t and isn’t his mother’s decision.

Isn't this what qualifies them as democrats?

FOX just reported that obamagod and biden are likely to go after Sarah hard this week. Here’s a flash—they already tried to get to her through her kids and she came through like the trooper she is. I thinks she can handles the sticks and stones they dredge up from their pit this week.

'When a man believes that any stick will do, he at once picks up a boomerang,' said GK Chesterton, and when the politically committed go on a berserker you should listen for the sound of their own principles smacking them in the face.

good quote

The second wave of hatred will arrive soon. That is the hatred against small towns, rural towns and rural culture represented by Gov. Palin. They (particularly urban environmentalists) absolutely hate people in fly-over country and are well practiced at ridicule, demonization and dismissing the lifestyle, values, traditions and economy of rural west. They will roll out the Whoopi Goldbergs, the Bill Mahers and the Bonnie Rait’s. There will be more about clinging to Bibles and guns.

They will validate the sophistication and evolved values of the globally-aware residents of urban planet. You can count on it.

Hopefully, the backlash will be thundering.

Mark Steyn, born in Canada in 1959, is a self-described conservative writer and commentator about politics, arts and culture. He has authored five books, including America Alone: The End of the World As We Know It, a New York Times bestseller. He is published in newspapers and magazines and appears on politically conservative radio shows such as those of Rush Limbaugh and Hugh Hewitt. Steyn, a Canadian citizen, now resides mainly in New Hampshire in the United States. He is married with three children.

In an age when politics is choreographed, voters watch out for the moments when the public-relations facade breaks down and venom pours through the cracks. Their judgment is rarely favourable when it does.

At this time I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the MSM/DBM, Queers, Secular Humanists, Abortionists, and public employee Unions.

A good article, and from the “Guardian”. But I think the writer misunderstood something here:

“Before Palin, we saw hypocrisy of the right when shock jocks who had spent years denouncing feminism came over all politically correct when Bill Clinton had an affair with Monica Lewinsky.”

Nope, the “shock jocks” didn’t become politically correct, and they sure didn’t become feminists, they just pointed out the shameless hypocrisy of the left, and of the feminists in particular, whose stone silence on the Clinton/Lewinsky episode proved what hypocrites they were/are, and their concern for women strangely disappeared when the predator was a liberal president whose diminishment would have harmed the leftist, liberal, feminist cause.

This is what the battle is really about.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. --Ephesians 6:12 KJV

All last week, he was warning American liberals to stay away from the Palin family. He understands better than his supporters that it is not a politician's enemies who lose elections, but his friends.

I suppose you can't blame the author for not seeing this clearly if he is an Englishman. He misread the fact that, in usual Chicago smear machine fashion, Osama send his minions out to slime her and then pretended to be above it all afterwards. To suggest that Osama was trying to get them to stop is beyond naive.
