Although Russia is celebrating the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, it still has its own problems in the region as its Muslim republics are drifting toward a partisan war.
Last Monday, an eerie funeral procession passed through the center of Nazran in the Russian republic of Ingushetia. Hundreds of people silently crowded around the coffin of Magomed Yevloyev. The 37-year-old lawyer and founder of a Web site ( www.ingushetiya.ru) that was critical of the government was killed in police custody. The authorities said that he was shot in a police car inadvertently -- though the bullet was accurate enough to enter his temple.

If the US hadn’t intervened in Kosovo, wouldn’t have given Russia precedence for Georgia, oh wait crap! NYET..NYET..NYET......!!!!!
The dying Soviet Union and Russia played this game from 1990-1993 as well. Our actions in Yugoslavia were an error, but this is standard operating procedure to the butchers in Moscow.
The war in Georgia was a message. Play ball with Moscow and the tanks stay home. Try to show overt independence or some anti-Russian activities and the Russians will come and kick butt. Its an old song and dance but one that doesn’t seem to have gone out of style in this part of the world. Maybe thats why Russia is respected and feared in the Muslim world.
Just like it makes me happy when Sunni and Shiite extremists kill each other, so does it also make me happy to see members of the muslim death cult and members of the Russian death cult kill each other.
