Though Gov. Palin originally supported the earmark spending on the Ketchikan bridge (to nowhere), SHE eventually KILLED THE PROJECT, choosing to spend Federal money on other infrasturcture programs.
However, Sen. Biden and Sen. Obama voted FOR funding the Bridge, EVEN when given a second chance by Sen. Tom Coburn, who proposed shifting earmark funds to Katrina relief.
Sen. McCain did not vote on the Coburn Amendment, though he is ON RECORD AS OPPSOING the Ketchikan bridge earmark.
McCain did not support it and the one person who had the real say so about it KILLED IT!
Distribute far and wide please.
Ouch. This is going to hurt The One even more than he’s already hurting.
“EVEN when given a second chance by Sen. Tom Coburn, who proposed shifting earmark funds to Katrina relief. “
Bump.

Obama must think Americans are stupid...
I am sure that Schmidt has this on a flashcard for Sarah when they RATStooges bring this up in the debate.
I love the smell of burning careers in the afternoon......
Where are the “journalists” in the MSM on this?
nObama does think Americans are stupid.
Good point on some of this being brought out during the debates.
McCain’s team may not be wanting to immediately dispute everything Obama is coming back on. They are probably setting up Obama/Biden for some zingers during the debates.
Don’t show all your cards up front.
This is probably one on them. Yea, I think you may be right.
I heard an Obama supporter on Sean's show today taking Sarah to task about the “bridge to nowhere”. Hehehehe, his head will explode with he finds out “the brother” voted for it twice along his clown VP nominee. Bwahahahahahahaha.
“Obama and Biden Voted FOR “Bridge to Nowhere”
They ARE the “Bridge to Nowhere”.
No the bro’s head won’t explode, they’ll do what they always do MAKE EXCUSES!
The campaign needs to feed out an op-ad right now. It doesn’t even have to be 30 seconds expensive. We can tell this in fifteen.
I went to the new republic site where they are citing Palin’s support for the bridge during the 2006 Gubernatorial Election. The question she actually answered goes as follows:
5. Would you continue state funding for the proposed Knik Arm and Gravina Island bridges?
Yes. I would like to see Alaska’s infrastructure projects built sooner rather than later. The window is now—while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist.
This question was asked in October 2006.
Now the initial cut of the Bridge to Nowhere was HR 3058 signed into law November 2005.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2005/11/20051130-12.html
The money was put into Alaska General Transportation Fund, and in 2006 upon election, Governor Palin determined that the bridge was not a priority to build. In September of 2007, the state funds for the bridge were re-directed away from the project.
I would point out that the question was whether Palin would use STATE funds to continue the works projects, which also included a bridge in the Anchorage Alaska Area.
Each state receives these general transportation funds.
Remember how Clinton and Gore were “The Bridge to the 21st Century”?
Well, you are right - Obama/Biden voted for and ARE “The Bridge to Nowhere”.
Pass it on.
Not just “hurricane relief”, it was to repair a hurricane damaged bridge in Louisiana... Obama and Biden don’t care about the citizens of Louisiana and want their bridges to collapse...lol
he knows that at least 50% of them are-he won the Dem primary.
Hahahahaha!stop. please stop.Hahahahah!
Since Palin was named to the ticket Aug. 29, she and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) have repeatedly cited her 2007 decision to nix the bridge project as an example of her credentials -- while Democrats have tried to turn her 2006 campaign statements in support of the bridge against her current position. "You can't just recreate yourself. You can't just reinvent yourself. The American people aren't stupid," Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic nominee, said at a campaign stop today.

Some dem talking head on Chrissy Mathews was trying to pin this on Palin.
Wait. Let me get this straight. Obama and Biden accused Bush of not funding Katrina victims, but instead voted to send the money to Alaska to build a bridge to the Democrat Governors island property?
They’ll weasel out of it with the help of the sympathetic MSM, just as usual!
From the WP online: "Since Palin was named to the ticket Aug. 29, she and Sen. If Barack is saying you can't change you mind even after a project budget grows to an absolutely stupid and wasteful degree, then he is the epitome of Anti-Change. But there's more...
Interesting fact: When the time came to vote, Sarah Palin stood against it, and Obama and Biden were FOR it...AND BOTH VOTED TO WASTE THE MONEY...even tho Sen. Tom Coburn proposed shifting those earmark funds to the relief of Katrina victims. That's right, Obama and Biden said NO to helping Katrina victims and voted instead to waste all that money on a bloated bridge to a former Democrat Governor's property. Sarah Palin took the money that had already been allotted and spent it on real infrastructure needs, putting in a ferry to the island instead.

It made my night when I found this article, thanks again. I was serious about it needing to be in the Front Page News, if anyone knows how to get a Mod to do that, please do!
BTTT! Great Article.
I just heard this on a newsbreak. They have 0bama saying:
“WHAT are they talking about?! SHE’S the one who funded it!”
Isn't that their campaign slogan?
