Concerns abound over voter access in November (MSM Barf alert)

WASHINGTON - The Justice Department pledged Monday to send election monitors around the country to help ensure access to the polls in November, even while acknowledging its limited power to enforce election laws.

Civil rights groups fear that an unprecedented minority voter turnout due to Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama might be countered by efforts to intimidate or otherwise block people who seek to cast their ballots.

Attorney General Michael Mukasey and other Justice officials met with about 42 representatives from voter access watchdogs, hoping to assure them that having a smooth Nov. 4 election is a priority.

"The Justice Department has a limited but extremely important role to play in ensuring elections are fair and just," acting Assistant Attorney General Grace Chung Becker told reporters after the closed-door meeting.

The part the AP leaves WHO out is the source of the story who claims Minoritites will be blocked from voting for Obama...She attempts to conjur up pre-Civil Rights era feelings and sympathy for the Liberal, handout crowd.

The source is Lara Lakes Jordan the "wife of veteran Democratic Party operative Jim Jordan, the former executive director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and manager of Sen. John Kerry's presidential bid."

AP continues its Leftist activism disguised as news reporting.

My biggest question is where is AP/Lara Lakes Jordan's expose' on ACORN's voter FRAUD? Hitting too close to home for the candidate she supports?

this black feeling intimidated

where do they get this from
I used to live in a place with many blacks infact I was in the minority,

Gangs of black men intimidating people all day, old women getting abuse, etc

I have never seen groups of blacks getting intimidated but I have seen whites getting intimidated by blacks

The time of being a victim has long gone, very long gone

Yea, I am concerned that the dems will pull their dirty tricks again.
In 2000 and 2004 all intimidation and fraud was pulled by the dems.
What will they pull this time?

You can count on them trying to steal the election through voter fraud and judicial activism, that’s for certain.

Janet Reno did the same for the 2000 election - gotta have someone “official” to make certain those ballot boxes are stuffed with Dem votes.

I like the way you think! Even with motor voter, large busloads of compliant voters, and ward supervisors with brass knuckles, THEY NEED TO WORRY!

I’d feel alot better if the Election officials were looking at false voter registrations as strongly as they are worried about “access to the polls”.
We have had too much voter fraud in the past, and this year ACORN is openly stating they will register anyone they can as many times as they can.
