First time carter ran i couldn’t vote, but boy do i remember the gas lines, the hostages.

When Reagan was up for re-election there wasn’t a millisecond of a hesitation of who i was voting for.

This is typical National Enquirer crap. So they got one story right - at least partially - with Edwards, and realized that their few prior Bush stories (drunk/divorce, etc etc) didnt’ work, so they’d go after fresh/new people.

Not surprising. But still disheartening. VERY

It is the responsibility of the Recruiter to ensure that every applicant for enlistment or appointment does not have disqualifying law violations. You are considered to have law violations if you have ever been arrested, charged, cited, or held, or detained in any way by any law enforcement agency

I have known of a number of cases where a young man is a little wild and his parents (sometimes a single mom) are just counting the days until he enters the military, which they hope will be just the thing to set him on the right course. Then at the very last minute, sometimes while celebrating his last few days as a civilian, the young man does something really stupid that either causes an injury or involves himself in a "law violation". Then the military backs off and the parents are left worrying about what will become of their son now.
