Criminalizing Criticism of Islam

Criminalizing Criticism of Islam By ELIZABETH SAMSON FROM TODAY'S WALL STREET JOURNAL EUROPE September 10, 2008

There are strange happenings in the world of international jurisprudence that do not bode well for the future of free speech. In an unprecedented case, a Jordanian court is prosecuting 12 Europeans in an extraterritorial attempt to silence the debate on radical Islam.

The prosecutor general in Amman charged the 12 with blasphemy, demeaning Islam and Muslim feelings, and slandering and insulting the prophet Muhammad in violation of the Jordanian Penal Code. The charges are especially unusual because the alleged violations were not committed on Jordanian soil.

Among the defendants is the Danish cartoonist whose alleged crime was to draw in 2005 one of the Muhammad illustrations that instigators then used to spark Muslim riots around the world. His co-defendants include 10 editors of Danish newspapers that published the images. The 12th accused man is Dutch parliamentarian Geert Wilders, who supposedly broke Jordanian law by releasing on the Web his recent film, "Fitna," which tries to examine how the Quran inspires Islamic terrorism.

Jordan's attempt at criminalizing free speech beyond its own borders wouldn't be so serious if it were an isolated case. Unfortunately, it is part of a larger campaign to use the law and international forums to intimidate critics of militant Islam.

Well, I can't see a problem with that at all.

Mohammed (MHBH) was basically a bandit chieftain looking to set up a religion optimally crafted for controlling increasingly large confederations of bandit tribes. The main problem today is that the bandit-tribe model of society is no longer workable given our technology.

The way you react to this crap from the Jordanians is to fight back with reason and a cry for basic human rights.

Islam is the only world religion that maintains the right to kill others in the name of that religion. It is a violation of every civilized nation’s constitution and the freedom of speech and the right for individuals to worship as they desire.

Islam demands the death of those Muslims who convert to another religion. That alone would make its presence illegal in any Western Nation. It certainly violates OUR U.S.Constitution and I fervently believe we have every legal right to demand from Muslims within our border, and internationally, that they change their religion, periold. Or Muslims will be deported from the United States immediately and never allowed to enter again.

This is not ever going to stop.
It is heading to a nuclear conflagration sooner or later. Let’s get it done on our terms.

Ya can see our judges referencing this decision on some of their future decisions.
And Sandra Day says our judges shouldn’t have to live in fear.

Good words.

" Let’s get it done on our terms."

There's only one thing these Islamobabble rabble understand, and lucky for us, it's the intrinsic value of being blown to smithereens in the putrid, Satanic name of Allah.

That's the only end to the debate with a group of fanantical sociopaths whose starting point in the negotiation is you dead.

Let's give 'em all some nice virgins, whaddaya say?

A lot of words to say “they are pissing into the wind”...

Fight back? The book Alms for Jihad which was subject to a libel suit brought by billionaire Saudi Khaled Bin Mahfouz in England has not been re-published in the United States. Even though American editors would like to publish the work the publishers’ lawyers have objected strenuously, fearing another lawsuit. So much for freedom of speech.

I wonder if I could get the Jordanians to charge me too? That group of 12 seems like good company.

The more Sen.Obama lets more cats come out of the bag, the more people will learn the truth about him.

I will remember Sen.Obama saying “my Muslim faith” come Nov. 4th when I vote for Sen.McCain.
