Hubby as actually allowed to enjoy a cigar with his adult beverage with other like-minded adults in Vegas. Oh, the horror!

At least Pennsylvania’s law isn’t as bad as Ohio’s, but I’m sure they’ll continue to make it like Ohio’s law.

"All those citizen sheep who support the Jihad on drugs—"

Not even CLOSE to the same thing. Actually, cigarettes are "legalized drugs" So it is YOUR chicken that has come home to roost.

If pot were "legalized' you'd see similar laws, or it being included under these, since smoking one joint is the same as smoking an entire pack of cigarettes, giving you a dose of hundreds of Toxins similar to tobacco smoke.

"When people quit smoking, what will they tax excessively next to make up the difference?"

Alcohol.

Great news! I hope Kentucky enacts such legislation soon!

I’ll bet a lot of local bars now will become “private”.

They’ll have to go to necessities; the government covets all disposable income.

Of course, it is the same thing.

The nanny-state tells you what you can and can’t use based on arbitrary criteria—

now there telling you where you can use that which they have not outlawed YET.

Your lament that your someone else runs the house, your use of the word whine... and your acceptance of your lot.

I’m old, I hate that, too.

That’s reality.

“SIN” taxes are the usual route taxaholic governments take.

Alcohol will be the first semi addictive substance that is “bad” for you, thus easy to justify taxing. With all the fevor over fatty foods, and obese America, junk food will not be far behind.
Then they move in on “fun” taxes, taxing everything people spend disposable income on to amuse themselves. “entertainment” taxes on sporting events, car shows etc. RV equipment, boats, motors, and the implementation of operation permits, “for your own safety” (and a 50$ fee).

Your lament that your someone else runs the house, your use of the word whine... and your acceptance of your lot.

I don't think you got my drift. I'm saying that what I smoke has been banned by nannystaters for decades (1937, I believe.) And that prohibition extends to my home, not just public places.

I'm not saying my wife doesn't let me smoke in the house. Is that what you thought? I also smoke cigars, which even in cigarette friendly environments are not permitted.

My point is that cigarette smokers are shocked and lament the passing of freedom in America when tobacco merely continues to edge closer to being treated like other banned substances.

People need to remember this is a country that once banned alcohol nationwide. It wasn't even that long ago. They act as if this sort of thing is new, when it's anything but.

That’s reality.

They've already done it, Google "Allegheny drink tax", as in Allegheny County, PA.

There is not enough money there in the long haul due to the lowered consumption factor, the law of diminishing returns, you know.

Tobacco taxes are higher than any single tax on any other commodity.
