How does a religion blogger not know that authority within the family has no bearing on anything outside the family?

There ya go. Your theological skills are measurably better than Ms Brooks'.

You beat me to it. Unless your employer is your husband, he has no say about your job.

Hi there... I went and checked on Sarah’s church affiliation. Even the Huffington Post recognizes the fact that Gov. Palin’s family stopped attending the Wasilla Assmebly of God church back in 2002. They now attend a “non-denominational” church - Wasilla Bible Church. SO, if this author had even bothered to do ANY real investigative work she would’ve discovered that Palin no longer attends this church as this “theologian” asserts in her article. More typical yellow journalism. This campaign really is bringing out the “best” in these liberal hacks, isn’t it?

As I stated, it wouldn’t matter if she did or did not still attend the same church she grew up in - however, it is a FACT that she and her family are no longer members.

On more thing... LOL Isn’t it funny how Obama is merely a “Christian” and any mention of the “flavor” of Christianity he subscribes to, or discussing how he was taught Arabic, and was listed as a Muslim when he was a child cannot be discussed as it is considered fear-mongering, racist, and anti-Muslim, but the denomination of church Palin attended as a child is fair game - simply because the church she used to attend is Fundamentalist? At least Palin isn’t trying to hide her upbringing, unlike Obama. These people really are a piece of work, aren’t they?

I'm surprised the WaPo’s writer is unhappy about Mr Palin’s potential influence over public policy. After all, no president since RR has been a union member. What greater hope for advancement of the cause of the workers could there be but Mr Palin?

I can tell you flat out I don't want somebody else in the White House who mouths conservative Christian views, takes us into faith-based wars, will cave in to the oil lobbies and who does not even understand modern science.
Uh ... ms Thistlethwaite. Since you are apparently an expert on "modern science" would you care to weigh in on the paradox of Super Gamma Ray Bursts? You know Susan, where they seem to violate Einstein and that little E=mc2 equation of his.

What? You don't know what I'm talking about. Okay, then let's go easy -- how about the M Theory solving the Big Bang and Alternate Universes?

(((((((( crickets ))))))))

No kidding, not only that, but this particular reading of Scripture is one of the most misunderstood or misinterpreted.

This was our second reading at my wedding Mass last June. It was also taught to us at our marriage seminar we attended. My guess is when a lot of people read this they see “Wives, be subordinate to your husbands...” and then tune everything else out.

There is so much more to this reading that many people — including this WaPo writer — miss.
