The Anger Factor

The media are getting mad. Whether it's the latest back-and-forth over attack ads, the silly lipstick flap or the continuing debate over Sarah and sexism, you can just feel the tension level rising several notches. Maybe it's a sense that this is crunch time, that the election is on the line, that the press is being manipulated (not that there's anything new about that). News outlets are increasingly challenging false or questionable claims by the McCain campaign, whether it's the ad accusing Obama of supporting sex-ed for kindergartners (the Illinois legislation clearly describes "age-appropriate" programs) or Palin's repeated boast that she stopped the Bridge to Nowhere (after she had supported it, and after Congress had effectively killed the specific earmark).

It's funny that Kurtz says McCain is lying about Obama and the way he shows it is by posting quotes from media members who are the ones actually distorting McCain's comments and fluffing Obama's weak points... amazing...

Howard Kurtz has definitely lost it as is obvious from his extreme namecalling of Republicans and completely one sided pro-Obama bias.

...John McCain has obviously decided that he can't win a straight-up fight, so he's decided instead to wage a battle of character assassination, relentless lies, and culture war armageddon...

Where has Kurtz been for the last 7 years? Oh yea - he has been busy spreading character assassinations, relentless lies, and culture war armageddon for the left.

Well, of course the media are getting mad. We're not listening to them! As long as they continue to blatantly cover for BO, why should we?
Just one quick, obvious example should suffice: Our BO-adoring media are hounding Palin about the so-called bridge to nowhere, saying she was for it before she was against it; all the while not saying that BO and Biden voted for it, and never voted against it. Spin, anyone? If they will smear Palin on it, why not BO and JB? Or do they only want us to pay attention to what they say, and not what they don't say?

I read through the article hoping for a chance to post a reply at the end . . . but, no such luck. The author seeks no feedback . . . just a one sided rant.

Msnbc continues to bury itself. Now we have the Keith Olbermann show with special guest Rachel Maddow AND the Rachel Maddow show with special guest ‘Keith the Creep’ Olbermann, both spewing their hatred for all things not Obama. Does anyone out there think that Rachel Maddow used to be Richard Mannow before some tinkering and hormones? Does one really need a neck that big to hold up a head that empty?

The press? Manipulated? The smartest people in the world? With degrees in journalism? Some of them have even had ——— real jobs —— before they became Google journalists? Naaaaahhhhh.

Seems to me that McCain could use this one article for the rest of his campaign as iron clad proof of media bias against him - it's nearly a declaration of war.

It's also a slightly muted call for replacing Biden with the shrill one, who would then be making an attempt to shatter an even higher glass ceiling than is Governor Palin. (From the new "first ladies have done it all, governors don't do squat" school of liberal politics)

When the truth is that the drive-by media is working tooth and nail, spreading lie after lie about Governor Palin, (talk about character assassination, relentless lies, and culture war), then I suppose they have to lie about their lies. It’s plain as the pretty, perky nose on our Sarah’s beautiful face !

I believe this is called preaching to the choir. The problem is that the other choir is louder, better, and drowning out preacher Howie. Howie’s choir has dwindled to a few diehard zealots.

He has a point...McCain/Palin are forcing the media to spend valuable time criticizing the antiObama ads that takes away from the more important task of cooing over Obama.

The most myopic article I have read in some time. The MSM simply believes that however they view the world simply is and all else is simply “dirty, alien or in this case, dishonorable.” Kurtz’s real problem here, one he is unable to grasp, is that the MSM no longer has a monopoly.

How dare McCain and his campaign over-hype a misstep by Obama, never minding that Republicans have been pilloried for years for even the slightest of misstatements. Or has the MSM forgotten pillorying John McCain for having the “appearance” of an affair with a lobbyist or that we would have troops in Iraq forever or that he doesn't know how many houses he owns. Never mind that their candidate has utterly and completely failed to provide any detail as to what he means by “hope and change.” Oh no, instead the new mantra is that McCain is afraid of a straight up fight on the issues. Really? Is that why 0bama bombed at Rick Warren's even, you know, where the issues were discussed, or refuses to provide specifics of his plans or simply is unable to speak if he is more than 2 feet from a teleprompter or or or. (Oh yeah Mr. Kurtz, looking forward to those town hall debates that 0bama refuses to have.)

All the above aside, what is most disgusting about this article is the notion that the MSM better not be made mad. As if they were not already mad and not already biased!?! Hey MSM, better check the scoreboard, it is you who should be worried about who is being made mad. A little hint, it is your audience that is mad and they are not mad at McCain or Palin. Your audience is mad at you and your arrogance.

News outlets are increasingly challenging false or questionable claims by the McCain campaign,

Howie, you ignorant, one way slut!

No question that there may be media bias here - It's beyond questioning that Kurtz is completely in the tank for the Obamassiah.

Howie, you don't even consider the possibility that there could be a false or questionable claim by the Obama camp.

How much time have you spent investigating Bill Ayres, Rezko, the missing Columbia school records, the bogus birth certificate, the lies about not hearing Rev. Wright's sermons in 20 years of attendance?

Or are you too busy unwadding your panties every time you see a picture of Sarah Palin?

You are a two-bit hack who has sold out and couldn't find a real clue if it was nailed to your forehead.

An honest reporter would admit that the media is made because their candidate isn’t winning.
