"and has resigned himself to prostate himself underneath it."

You meant "prostrate" , right?

I think you're missing the point. I don't care if only twenty black voters in MI cast ballots in November. Based on poll after poll after poll nationally, I would expect 18 of those 20 voters to pull the lever for Obama. This poll tells me only 15 of them will.

That's a significant discrepancy.

And McCain's carrying Hispanics almost 2:1? I don't think so.

And your point is...I shouldn’t vote for McCain because the immigration stuff isn’t ironed out yet?

I should vote for Obama?

Yeesh.

I would say the most significant thing about the poll is that McCain has a solid lead among Independents. They always knew they had to secure this.

The Hispanics would go for McCain if he sits and eats with them. They love the “Old Man”

You want the Hispanic vote , you have to eat with the people

We may be seeing that the country is more pro-life than the MSM would like us to think.

In truth, this is the first presidential campaign since Reagan’s 1984 run where either party had a candidate that was “proudly pro-life”. The 1st Bush mouthed the words, Dole wanted to water it down, and W has said just enough (imho) to keep the base happy.

Let’s give McCain some credit. He has never flinched about saying he was pro-life and that life begins at conception, and he has brought abortion front and center by picking a VP that is the poster-girl against abortion.

This poll is absolute garbage... Forget about the age stats... There’s NO way there’s a 25% gap on each side, for each candidate. That’s just ludicrous... Waste of our time

I can... A lot of blacks are getting turned off by the “prophet” business with Obama,

Then please show me some other polls with the black vote under 80%.

Except for the graphic being a bit too sexy for the purpose, that is a great campaign graphic/bumper sticker, etc. Kudos!

Why do you believe the national polls?

If all they did was fail to poll any respondents in Illinois, the results would change dramatically.

No, I just meant I didn’t think the poll results were valid or made any sense.

Now, how does the Obama campaign urge a big turn-out from the Youth (18-29) in Michigan, when McCain now owns it 50% - 37% ?

It appears they have reversed the columns for the age groups.

The racial animosity is very real....somehow the blacks think they have the lead on minority issues and have for years hijacked affirmative action... They forgot they are not the only race that has been discriminated against.....

I’m just saying...And this whole first Black American President...they dont care...they already had the President of the people it was JFK...and Obami you are no JFK....

NOW SIT DOWN JUNIOR!!!!!! VIVA JOHN MCCAIN.

I think we'll win here, but I'm not getting cocky with this poll. I think it's way off. The 45+ vote will go McCain, not Obama. 30-45 I think will be close, and the 18-29 vote will go Obama big.

The big thing for this state is that we much make sure the democrats do not steal it with vote fraud.

Why do you think that the polls - on Hispanics and blacks - make no sense?

“I dunno. I think McCain’s doing well in MI, but this particular poll shows the Obamessiah getting only 77% of the black vote. I just can’t see it.”

I agree, that sounds just plain wrong. It’s also weird that McCain has a huge lead among voters 18-29 but Obama has a huge lead among voters 30-44 and 45-64. And the poll shows McCain carrying men 58%-33% but Obama carrying women 56%-33%-—how could Palin have helped McCain so much among young voters without also eating into Obama’s Gender Gap?

I’ll wait for Mason-Dixon or Strategic Vision to show McCain ahead in MI before celebrating.

Too bad the youth don't vote in the numbers that take polls.

As part of the upper end of the youth category, I'm glad to say that both my wife and I have voted in every election. And I'm glad to see the trend of my generation being more conservative than the boomers. We're tired of their '60s-worshiping cheesy movies and music. We're tired of the never-grow-up peter pan pretend to be young delusions. 50 is not the new 30, and if you think it is, you're severely immature and probably a drag on society. We've seen the results of boomer's efforts to "change the world" and they have been such miserable failures that the same people are still trying to change the same things. In the meantime we're not scared of guns and nuclear power, we have religion that is more than a distant offshoot of "how we were raised", and we have a healthy distrust of political movements that claim to change the world.
