Sarah Palin stirs passion in Hollywood

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Sarah Palin represents many things Hollywood liberals love to hate, from her opposition to gay marriage to her support for gun rights, yet she possesses two key qualities they admire -- star appeal and a great script.

Accordingly, Hollywood Republicans -- often overshadowed by their left-leaning peers -- are seeking to capitalize on the celebrity of John McCain's running mate in the November 4 election to generate support in a town well-known for its lavish Democratic fund-raisers and events.

"She's certainly got star appeal and is the kind of candidate that is made for Hollywood. I offered to throw her a fundraiser myself," said MGM chief Harry Sloan, one of Hollywood's most vocal Republicans.

Palin has shaken up the White House race, boosted enthusiasm among previously apathetic supporters of McCain's presidential nomination and drawn support from women, rural voters and Southerners, according to recent polls.

Sloan said there were no plans for a Palin Hollywood fundraiser yet as her campaign managers were inundated with similar requests from all over the country after her national debut at the Republican National Convention on September 3.

I’ll bet Sarah takes Harry up on this one. She loves to get in the face of liberals and show them that she is not afraid of those wimps.

While there are a significant number of Hollywood’ers that are conservative patriots, I would still insist on a change of venue to do any fundraising events....not in that town. And since the libs are going to lose this election, and they know it, as a minimum, the most radical would create trouble. I have no doubt...

Yes, as another FReeper posted earlier in the week, CA (much less Hollywood) ain’t gonna go McCain/Palin’s way this year in the voting booth, but many there would enjoy throwing some good fundraisers for them.

Well, Hollywood is sooooo full of Wisdom and Goodness.

Why should we not listen and do what they say?

Given the Left's inflammatory rhetoric, one day they will drive one of their minions to do something drastic. Take that to the bank.

And they'll profess horror like the rest of us, but will never admit any responsibility.

Perhaps they should throw a Republican fundraiser not too far from Hollywood over at the Reagan Library.

It would be a hoot if conservatives and Republicans started to gain some influence in ho-wood, just to scare the crap out of the wussies that constitute the place.

:::::::::::
Excellent idea. A much more fitting venue for McCain/Palin. I am sure Reagan himself would be very pleased...rest in peace.

LOL! That poll is worded in such a snarky way, sounds like it's trying to insult anyone who would actually vote Yes for it.

Remember the Unibomber? Rush read things from the unibomber’s manifesto. Then he read Al Gore’s ‘Earth in the Balance’. He made callers guess who wrote what. It was shocking.

Since the first time I saw him he’s reminded me of Jiminy Cricket - without the cute-ness of Jiminy Cricket.

I expect the Left to begin using the wackos in their midst as a means to achieve very specific political ends soon. It seems to be the direction they’re headed.

Since she burst upon the scene I've thought Sarah Palin’s twang sounded familiar.

It turns out that her family lived near Chipewa Falls for 5 generations.

There's not a single doubt in my mind that we'll be seeing evil, fanatic movie characters named Sierra Phelan in the very near future.

When Hollywood hates you that much, they won't even bother changing your name more than slightly, just to make sure that everyone gets it, like the "Jean Kilpatrick" character in the movie Dragnet, and the "Richard Thornberg" character in the Die Hard movies.

From what I've seen and read regarding Sarah so far, I'm under the impression she doesn't even own a TV much less spend any time in a movie theater. I doubt it would matter a whit to her if she's ever linked to some evil character in a movie or tv show.
