This dreadful interview was reminiscent of Gore sighing during the debates with Bush. Rather than looking intellectual, Gore looked like a pompous ass. It was the same with Gibson tonight.

Gibson was disgusting and the intro of “she definitely is Christian” was pure religious bigotry and hatred. Doesn’t Obama swear he is “definitely a Christian???” Aren’t all Christians. That is outrageous.

The nightline version of the interview was essentially the same interview but with less edits. It was really odd to see the contrast between the one on ABC News and the one on Nightline.
The ABC News Version was weird and contrived. The Nightline version left more of the interview intact...therefore made more sense.

I like to see them give the same kind of interview to Biden who always sounds crass, crude and half drunk. The way he speaks to constituients, you'd think he was at some sort of rowdy party, and was just asked to get up and say a few words for entertainment. The chance that he could be president is just as likely and absolutely frightening.
And how about his dismissing her trip to the troops in Kuwait and Germany, INCLUDING visiting the wounded who Obama walked out on? Didn’t Obama have to go over there even more recently because he had zero foreign policy experience????
More media chauvinism toward Palin... this just solidifies the women’s vote for McCain Palin.

For this let us be thankful. Hopefully Gibson will be as obnoxious throughout the the interview, it makes it all the easier for Gov. Palin and when she looks good, no followup cries of Gibson being soft on her.
Gov. Palin did two things very well. She prevented Gibson from connecting any of her responses to the Bush administration. You could see it was one of his goals and he did not succeed. She also did not allow Gibson to frame questions in the negative, where she had no way of generating a positive answer. I already feel confident she will do well coming out the other side of this interview and any skepticism that it creates in the mind of the uncommitted voter will be about the questioner, not Gov. Palin's answers.
If Gibson wants to know how it looked to outsiders, he should think back to his first day of being an anchor - then imagine what it would be like if a seasoned veteran of the news did a high handed “interview” like he did with Sarah.Is Gibson really that insecure?
Yeah, I saw that question: “Holy War?” on at least on ABC website. They are trying to make her look like a nut. In the videos I saw, her answers were very good. She wasn’t rattled.
I am am Amateur Video Editor and Producer (Stuff for families and friends and such) and the first thing I noticed is how amateurish the editing was. Not that it was even done in a manner to make Palin look bad but more that it was just thrown together.
I noticed one part where Gibson dramatically changes body position in a nano-second without actually moving. Usually when you have such an edit you use a Fade (Down to black screen and back) or Wipe (Dissolve of the two scenes where picture sort of melds together) to go from one scene to the next. This almost looked like "flying Edits" on an old reel to reel tape where you record something then rewind a bit and puch record and continue on.
It was very strange to see such on a Network News Show.

I can’t believe Obama is even still in the race after choosing to work out at the Ritz carlton rather than meet the wounded troops. That is unbelievable. I still want an issue out of the intro saying “and she is definitely a Christian”. In my book, that’s like saying “she is definitely a good person”. Believe me, they did not mean it that way. It was an absolute shot at Christians.

Exactly! Charlie Gibson in that interview with Sarah Palin looked like a comic character- the evil magician or whatever, who furrows their brow and salivates in anticipatory vengeance waving their wand at the innocent victim. But the "victim" in this case Sarah Palin, didn't turn into a frog or disappear. She answered each question straight on without wavering... she turned Charlie into the little ugly frog instead and probably made him wish he could disappear.
I am SO glad Gibson repeatedly went after her on her Christian statements.
This will garner even more evangelical votes for McCain/Palin.
Her faith, and her willingness to express it, is one of the reasons Americans love her with a passion. Palin is not afraid to show America who she is, a mother, a wife, a christian, a leader and much more. That is what I hear people at work talking about.
I was talking with a woman earlier this week, who is a Chief Diversity Officer for a large corporation. She was talking about Hillary vs Palin.
She said Hillary’s approach has been to be “like one of the guys” over the last 20 years. To break the glass ceiling, Hillary felt she couldn’t show her true feminine side and still be able to succeed in a “mans world”. That is why she wears Pantsuits, and why she cuts her hair short, and why she wears certain colors. That is why she never talks about raising Chelsey and holding down a “job”. That men would see that as weak, and it would hold her career back.
She said Palin embraces her “womanhood”. That she is not afraid to wear dresses, and high heel shoes. That she wears her hair like someone who was rushing out the door to get the kids to school. That she wears a lot of feminine materials like silk. She also said that Palin is not afraid to showcase her family front and center. She said Palin evidently believes that you CAN have a family and have a career.
Being a guy, I though that was some very insightful information from a women who herself is very successful in corporate American.

That was not an exact quote, and it wasn't about Iraq specifically although she did mention Track who had just entered the military and was being deployed in September to Iraq, plus she qualifies her words in the next clause:
