Gallup: Battle for Congress Suddenly Looks Competitive (Drill, Baby, Drill Paying off)

PRINCETON, NJ -- A potential shift in fortunes for the Republicans in Congress is seen in the latest USA Today/Gallup survey, with the Democrats now leading the Republicans by just 3 percentage points, 48% to 45%, in voters' "generic ballot" preferences for Congress. This is down from consistent double-digit Democratic leads seen on this measure over the past year.

Why don’t Republicans nationalize the election with 3-4 reforms they will do with McCain

Democrats aren’t going to do anything with McCain; this needs to be said often in the final 55 days.

Barack Obama is looking more and more like a figure from an Acme Presidential Kit in an old Roadrunner cartoon. The Dims should shift their mascot from a donkey to Wiley Coyote. This is just way too much fun to watch.....

It’s definitely the Palin effect. People think Alaska = oil production, plain and simple. Her approval rating is confirmation enough for most folks.

As a Floridian, I can tell you that people here are pissed about gas prices. Our economy is in the toilet due to the mortgage mess, and these gas prices are just twisting the knife in our back.
