Sarah Palin Thinks Barack Obama Will Regret Not Picking Hillary Clinton John McCain's Vice Presidential Candidate Talks With Charles Gibson in Exclusive Interview By RUSSELL GOLDMAN

Sept. 12, 2008—

Gov. Sarah Palin says Sen. Barack Obama just might regret not picking Sen. Hillary Clinton as his vice presidential running mate.

"I think he's regretting not picking her now, I do. What, what determination, and grit, and even grace through some tough shots that were fired her way -- she handled those well," the Alaska governor told Charles Gibson in her third and final exclusive interview with ABC News.

View excerpts of Charles Gibson's exclusive interview with Gov. Sarah Palin in Wasilla, Alaska, by clicking here.

And Watch Gibson's exclusive interviews with Palin tonight on "World News" at 6:30 p.m. ET, a special "20/20" at 10 p.m. ET/ 9 p.m. CT, and "Nightline" at 11:35 p.m. ET

Palin, 44, took the mantle of the campaign's only female contender after Obama defeated Clinton for their party's nomination and picked Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., as his Democratic running mate over Clinton and others.

Palin has praised Clinton on the campaign trail, and when she was first introduced as Sen. John McCain's running mate last month in Ohio.

"The women of America aren't finished yet, and we can shatter that glass ceiling once and for all," Palin said as she accepted McCain's invitation to join the 2008 Republican ticket, referring to a line made famous in Clinton's concession to Obama.

Flatter the Dems by killing them with backhand praise even as the rabid radical feminists are made by their unbridled hate and lack of graciousness, made to look small...

This was absolutely BRILLIANT on her part (and hopefully it was her idea).

Why? Now if the do the old switcheroo on the Dem ticket—as Biden may have been hinting at—it will look like HER idea. She can claim that BHO was following her suggestion. her judgement. In other words, if BHO acts to save himself, he’s her b!tch. Bravo Ms Palin, bravo!!

I hope this is a calculated and politically-motivated "opinion." Please tell me our VP candidate doesn't actually find anything appealing about PIAPS.

You know that, I know that, and Sarah Palin knows that.

But a little praise, disingenuous as it is, could easily help make the sale to someone who doesn’t know that.

Yeah. I think she’s as grossed out with Hildabeast as I am, but the PUMAs...the PUMAs love Palin...and they’re mad enough to vote on it. I’m glad she said something positive about Hillary, without saying anything that can be thrown back at her if Hillary replaces Biden.

Gov. Sarah Palin says:

“I think he’s regretting not picking her now, I do.”

This is brilliant!

With the low rumbles of Eagleton part two in the works, she has now co-opted the idea. If Zero replaces biden with Clinton, then Sarah looks to be prescient.

Now he thinks twice about doing it or else it is a major concession that she was right. And that he was wrong on his first major decision.

And if the ticket stays as is (the more probable scenario) then she has verbalized the other rumbling of the buyer’s remorse that is also churning beneath the surface.

Excellent.

My first thought was, "Oh, how very clever of you, Sarah!"

Then, I formed a different idea once I read all the other comments, namely:

I do not believe she is a disingenous panderer. I believe her Christian nature/charity/core values brought her to say these kind things about a rough campaign. She didn't say she loved Mrs. Clinton; she merely acknowledged the tenacity of the fight Clinton returned.

I am not this gracious about the Clintons, but I do respect the governor's ability to put aside her ambivalence and offer grace.

Regards . . . Penny

He can't just change his VP choice without Biden faking some emergency!

That would be political suicide!

His first executive decision and he ask for a do-over?

Oh well, Obam_Ahh has a nice house in Chicago to go back to.

Your post raises a very good point.

The next time Obama gets interviewed by someone who is willing to throw a curveball, they need to ask, “do you regret picking Biden over Hillary for VP?”

There is NO good answer to that question.
