Sarah Palin to visit Dallas on Oct. 3

07:38 PM CDT on Thursday, September 11, 2008

By GROMER JEFFERS JR. / The Dallas Morning News gjeffers@dallasnews.com

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is scheduled to visit Dallas on Oct. 3 for a fundraiser and possibly a public rally.

Since becoming the Republican nominee for vice president, Ms. Palin has electrified the GOP base and helped John McCain surge in the polls. Local Republicans on Thursday were ecstatic that she’s coming to town.

“It’s a huge opportunity for Palin to be introduced to the people of Dallas who have seen her on television,” said Jonathan Neerman, chairman of the Dallas County Republican Party.

Ms. Palin will participate in a lunchtime fundraiser at the Fairmont Hotel. Tickets will cost $1,000 a plate. The top level being asked for host committee is about $57,000.

The money is being raised for the Republican National Committee.

Mr. McCain has opted for public financing for the general election campaign and does not have to raise campaign funds.

Mr. Neerman said he would try to get Ms. Palin to attend a separate event to introduce her to county Republicans who are not donors.

“We want her to do something with our grass-roots activists,” he said.

The Oct. 3 event, which will be one day after the vice presidential debate, would be Ms. Palin’s first trip to Texas since attending a Republican Governors Association meeting in Grapevine last April.

Is there a place that lists the campaign stops. I met Reagan in 1980 and would love to meet or at least see Sarah!

Already trying to schedule this out. I have a wedding to attend in San Antonio that morning, so I’m trying to see if there is any flights that jump quick enough. This may be worth private charter to make it happen.

Just fly Southwest to Dallas. Flights all day long.

Now about the grassroots meeting ...

What about Ford Field or even Texas Stadium for that event?

It will be a Friday night. Maybe we can arrange to have the event at Southlake where the Carroll Dragons football team plays.

What a great lead in for McCain - Palin in Texas - high school football!

Sure beats some lame band.

I love those static slickers too. Unfortunately cafepress doesn't offer them : (

If you do see a product you like, coffee mugs, shirts etc., just FReep mail me and I'll make a graphic for it.

Ms. Palin will participate in a lunchtime fundraiser at the Fairmont Hotel. Tickets will cost $1,000 a plate.

Actually, this only amounts to a slight upcharge to what the Fairmont normally charges for lunch...

Bump to spread the word! I hope she holds a public rally. I am willing to drive 100 miles from east Texas to see her. (The remains of Ike’s eye is right overhead.) She could fill Texas Stadium.

Holy cow! I will never attend one of these with amounts like this. Anyone going who needs a date? My husband won’t mind!

The best I can do and have already done is buy McCain/Palin t-shirts and wear them everywhere I go until the election. I bought 7 of them! I’ve gotten so many comments already — “Hey, love your shirt!” “Excuse me - where’d you get that?” I’ve gotten more comments with these shirts than any other campaign tshirt I’ve ever owned! Grocery lines are the best place to get people talking!

http://www.lyricsfreak.com/h/heart/barracuda_20064763.html

Barracuda

So this aint the end -
I saw you again today
I had to turn my heart away
Smiled like the sun -
Kisses for real
And tales - it never fails!

You lying so low in the weeds
I bet you gonna ambush me
Youd have me down down down down on my knees
Now wouldnt you, barracuda?

Back over time we were all
Trying for free
You met the porpoise and me
No right no wrong, selling a song-
A name, whisper game.

If the real thing dont do the trick
You better make up something quick
You gonna burn burn burn burn it to the wick
Ooooooh, barracuda?

Sell me sell you the porpoise said
Dive down deep down to save my head
You...i think you got the blues too.

All that night and all the next
Swam without looking back
Made for the western pools - silly fools!

If the real thing dont do the trick
No, you better make up something quick
You gonna burn burn burn burn it to the wick
Ooooooohhhh, barra barracuda.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is scheduled to visit Dallas on Oct. 3 for a fundraiser and possibly a public rally.

She would do well to have the public rally. If she REALLY wants to make a news splash how about having 50K Texans show up or maybe just fill Texas stadium.
