Charles Krauthammer, the man who coined the phrase Bush doctrine, turns the table on the condescending Charlie Gibson.
Take off your smart glasses, Charlie. Because youve been schooled:
The New York Times got it wrong. And Charlie Gibson got it wrong.
He asked Palin, Do you agree with the Bush doctrine? She responded, quite sensibly to a question that is ambiguous, In what respect, Charlie? Sensing his gotcha moment, Gibson refused to tell her. After making her fish for the answer, Gibson grudgingly explained to the moose-hunting rube that the Bush doctrine is that we have the right of anticipatory self-defense. ad_icon Wrong
There is no single meaning of the Bush doctrine. In fact, there have been four distinct meanings, each one succeeding another over the eight years of this administration and the one Charlie Gibson cited is not the one in common usage today. It is utterly different.

That’s obviously a BLACK MAN’S hand!
Now, let’s have none of that!
Besides that, what exactly is he getting at with that “little finger” remark, if you get my drift?
Charlie Gibson likes to sucker punch females. Makes him feel like a big man.
1. American unilateralism - rejecting the ABM treaty and the Kyoto Accords, doing what's right for America.
2. The War on Terror - any nation that supports or harbors terrorism is a hostile regime.
3. Pre-emptive war.
4. The fundamental mission of American foreign policy is to spread democracy throughout the world.
So Charlie, which one are you seeking an answer on? Are you sure?
Charlie reminds me of the Bridgekeeper in Monty Python and the Holy Grail who can’t even answer his own question when it’s turned on him.
Way to go Chuck!!!
On BOR Karl Rove clearly laid out four separate Bush policies that have been labeled “Bush Doctrine” by the press in the last six years. None of these so-called doctrines has ever been written down and expounded as an absolute policy by President Bush. In chronological order Gibson was inferring (I say inferring because he refused to clarify) the second “doctrine.” Gov. Palin dealt with the fourth “doctrine.” It would appear that she is up to speed with the current state of administration policy and press spin and Charlie Gibson is still stuck in 2002.
After Palin asked "In what respect, Charlie?". Charlie's look reminds me of Pee-Wee Herman - "So when are we going to tour the Alamo's basement?". Chuckee Gibson is soo clueless.
Nightly news I never watch him.
