Breitbart TV picks up Newsbuster's piece which credits FreeRepublic concerning Obama stealing lines from Toles cartoon.
Good. It’s about time someone picked this up. Hopefully Drudge will link to it, as he does with so many BreitBart columns/articles.
I have to think the GOP is holding that particular bullet in the holster, just in case it’s needed.
Obama is a cartoon..
Wasn’t “Yes We Can” stolen from Bob the Builder?
What's he saying, “Look out Americans!”
“Appeasement of our enemies, huge tax increases, universal everything for everybody, left wing radical supreme court appointments, gun control, nationalization of Big ____________, signing the Kyoto Protocol and Chicago thug style politics is the CHANGE that I'm bringing to Washington!!!”
Actually- this was “dealt” with a couple of days ago after it was first posted. I wish I could tell you which blog- but it turns out Obama kept using the line and someone brought it up to him or his staff and he started giving credit to the cartoonist..
This won’t go anywhere. Tom Toles has been a socialist since his days at State University at Buffalo. He was picked up by the Buffalo News under it’s new ownership by Warren Buffet, another socialist. Neither Tolls nor the WaPo will attack Obama.
We've got to remember which 'team' the MSM is playing for.
They let Martin Luther King get away with it, they’ll let Obama slide too.
That’s okay but conservatives should make sure it is out there. Send enough emails so that sites like Snopes get hits with the question so that when they do use it they can find the story easily in any search engine.
Attribution, nice. No plagiarism for Newsbusters, which probably just thought this one up on its own.
The crowd at an Obama rally in Virginia on September 9th rises to its feet, cheering and laughing, as Barack Obama says "you can put lipstick on a pig. It's still a pig." ________________________________________________________
Never make an accusation of plagiarism against someone, outside an academic context, unless you are certain that the original author won’t say he granted permission for unattributed use. I see no reason for such certainty here.
You are correct about plagarism, but it DOES show a complete lack of any original intellectual thought. The “Messiah” is just another well programed liar of the left, and must be vanquished....PERIOD.
Even that charge could be undermined if the author wanted to swallow his pride and claim Barack gave him the idea.
Given the way Liberal Mind Fog Disorder works, it would be better to--rather than saying that Barack was always using other people's ideas for lack of his own--instead compliment Barack on being so brilliant and generous as to give his ideas to so many other different people. People with LMFD would happily regard that as a plus until, sometime after they'd accepted the idea into their brain, they realized that the implied causality wouldn't make sense.
Nothing that Obama says are his own words. He stole a line from Rush Limbaugh for his speech on service. It was a phrase that Limbaugh uses all the time to talk about the difference between conservatives and liberals, something about inspiring people to be all that they can be, instead of victims.
Can’t disagree, but I wouldn’t hesitate to point out that Obama gets his “best” and “most serious” material from the cartoon section of the newspaper.
Actually, he stole “Yes We Can” from La Raza’s “Si, Se Pueda”
“Yes, we can” was the platform that Gov. Deval Patrick ran on to win in MA....talk about empty suits and empty promises.
Note how he’s looking at the woman in black shirt (front row), when he delivers the pig line. Coincidence?
