Mo Dowd, Matt Damon Repeat NutRoots Lie About Palin

As if we needed another reason to think that the excitable Maureen Dowd and the empty headed Matt Damon are... well, excitable and empty headed... we get the newest raindrop in their river of blather as proof that their "research" into a subject seems to consist of hearing an unsupported claim and deciding it represent gospel truth. Our latest proof is that they both seem to have been taken in by a nutrooter lie, a fake quote that claims Sarah Palin said, "dinosaurs were here 4,000 years ago."

Both seem to have fallen for a parody of Governor Palin invented by a blogger who's post seems to have been taken literally. The following self-identified "fake Governor Sarah Palin Quote" was posted on August 30: "God made dinosaurs 4,000 years ago as ultimately flawed creatures, lizards of Satan really, so when they died and became petroleum products we, made in his perfect image, could use them in our pickup trucks, snow machines and fishing boats."

Damon's laughable little attempt at political analysis consisted of an interview he recently gave where he ripped into Governor Palin. He claimed he felt she was unqualified, yet then turned around one sentence later to say he knows nothing about her. Isn't that like claiming to be an expert on something then immediately admitting that you've never studied the subject? Near the end of the interview, Damon said. "I need to know if she really thinks dinosaurs were here 4,000 years ago, that's an important… I wanna know that, I really do." ...

The “4000 years” comment betrays an even deeper ignorance. Its origin was an analysis of scripture by Archbishop James Ussher of Ireland, published in 1701, that purported to prove that the Creation occurred in 4004 BC. Of course this is NOT Church doctrine. And while virtually every wild theory can find 1 or 2 adherents in the world’s population of over 6 billion, perhaps Mr. Damon is the ONLY individual who thinks that ANY person believes that the date of Creation was in 1992 BC - 4000 years ago.

Pontius Pilate was the ROME-appointed local RULER, with the title equivalent to “Governor”. Sarah Palin is the Governor (modern English word and meaning) ELECTED by the people of Alaska to serve as the chief executive officer of their state for a specific, limited term. This comparison is as specious as the implied equivalence of Obama to Jesus.

Mrs Palin had it right - she has been a REAL “Community Organizer”, with real responsibility for results, for more WEEKS than the DAYS he has spent in the Senate. As a Jew I will not attempt to speak on the role of Jesus with any authority, but as I understand it, his purpose was to bring people to G_d, not to organize mobs to confront the government.

Democrats that use this brainless comparison ought to be ashamed of themselves, but I think that part of their brains have atrophied due to inactivity. Steve Cohen (D-TN9) used this on the House floor a few days ago. As a Jew, he ought to have known better.

Actually, I am fairly certain that he was heavily influenced by HARVARD, which has lost it’s vocation and become just another liberal sinkhole like the rest of the Ivy League.

I still receive my Alumni Newsletter from MIT - just down Mass. Ave. from Harvard - that has similarly deteriorated.

The Mainstream Media aren't very smart for giving such credence to people, though some fairly well educated like Damon, who spend the majority of their working hours playing roles as opposed to carrying out leadership duties...it really speaks volumes as to just how vapid and self serving these people truly are.

The fact any credible reporter or journalist would care what Hollywood actors and musicians think on any given subject is one more reason to cancel subscriptions to newspapers and cable service. These people are not serious about their trade.
