Chgo Sun-Times: 'Sarah Palin Makes Me Sick' By Michael M. Bates Created 2008-09-13 12:43

"Palin should be laughingstock to all feminists" [1] is the title of Mary Mitchell's column in today's Chicago Sun-Times. In that calm, detached tone readers have come to expect, Mitchell begins:

Sarah Palin makes me sick. I hate that she was able to steal Barack Obama's mojo just by showing up wearing rimless glasses and a skirt.

I hate that she makes Joe Biden look like John McCain and John McCain look like the maverick he is not.

I hate that Palin reminds me of Susan Sarandon's feisty character in "Thelma & Louise." I loved Sarandon in that movie, yet I couldn't stand Palin's feistiness at the Republican National Convention.

Sarah Palin makes me sick -- not because she may speak in tongues -- but because she is a fast talker.

Not even ABC's Charlie Gibson can slow Palin's mouth.

There's yet another reason Mitchell's feeling nauseated:

Sarah Palin makes me sick because although black Democrats have been responsible for giving white candidates the boost they needed to beat their Republican opponents in tight races, these voters are now being insulted by feminists who say they will cross over into the McCain camp because of her.

So we know Mitchell's primary symptom, but what's the underlying cause? As it turns out, it's an all too common complaint among the many suffering from Palin Derangement Syndrome:

"Frankly, Sarah Palin scares me."

Don't feel lonely, Mary. It's going around these days.

Former New York mayor Ed Koch says of Palin [2], "She scares the hell out of me." Actor Matt Damon calls [3] the GOP vice presidential candidate "terrifying." New Republic editor Noam Scheiber writes [4]:

The reason Palin scares me has more to do with mechanics than demographics: Palin is such a sensation, and draws such large crowds, that anything she says--particularly attacks on Obama--immediately become part of the campaign conversation.

"Rock matriarch" - I guess that's a nice way of putting it - Sharon Osbourne admits [5], "I’m scared of that woman with the glasses and gun! Ugh!" And at a Web site that boasts "the latest in green gossip," we learn that singer Pink [6]"is terrified of Sarah Palin, says she 'hates women.'"

The fear and terror engendered by Sarah Palin among Obamatons make Adrian Monk look like John Wayne. Then again, this could be an opportunity. Over at the official Barack Obama site, there's a group designated Pagans for Obama. [7] Perhaps the campaign could institute a group named Sissies for Obama.

Or would that be redundant?

They prefer the Chicago-mob type who have domestic terrorists as their best friends. The media hate mongers are slitting their throats this time around. There’s no fooling the American people what slime they are. I wouldn’t spend a nickle on their trash nor will I watch any of the Liberal celebrities who spill their bile like like we care. I plan to boycott all these America-hating vermin.

I have quit VS Planet (a musicians forum). I spent 12 years arguing with children.

Dennis Prager has an interesting theory about drug use. He claims that during periods of drug use, a person stops developing emotionally because the drugs anesthetize the user from the emotional discomfort necessary for self-evaluation and personal growth.

If a person of a certain age has been using drugs since the age of twelve, he will still think like a twelve-year-old. Which explains the political views of musicians and other celebrities.

Democratic women hate..HATE...any woman that does not tow the line and HATE...HATE blacks who vote Republican period. They are considered Uncle Tom’s and traitors to their race.

I am still after all of these years...waiting to hear just what it is that the Democratic party has done for the black population.

Sarah Palin is like Kryptonite to the left wing nuts. Sarah is driving a one time main stream political party into melt down mode and it is more entertaining than I can hardly stand. John McCain is a genius.

” If his client was good looking or pretty, then forget it. A majority of the female jury candidates HATED his client before she ever took the stand.

I asked my wife about this and she confirmed every word. “

I learned 40 years ago to let men cut my hair. Ugly, liberal female hairdressers are the worst! They want ya to look like them!

Ah. The real rub. Governor Palin makes it harder for the old media to filter out Republican talking points.

Actually, I view this woman’s column as an honest one. That alone is refreshing. She is honest enough to admit she is scared of Palin. She is honest enough to admit she is unhappy that she feels her guy is not getting racial reciprosity.

Democrats are driven by hate. They hate everyone who is not like them.

Your absolutely right. For all the talk and the claims of inclusivness and tolerance, the democrats are able to barely tolerate those who look a little different(and when they do they are very self congratulatory about it) but they hate, absolutely hate anyone who dares to think different. They will not tolerate diversity of thought.

On a Saturday? Mitchell's columns are usually Tuesdays and Thurs, what happened? Has she been demoted?

Mitchell's columns have been posted here before. I don't know if her column that threw 'race' into Palin's attack on Obama was posted here or not.

To those not familiar, Mitchell makes weekly columns praising Obama and bashing anyone who doesn't support him. I knew Palin bashing was coming.

That was the best Editorial article I have read all morning!

Be afraid my little liberal friends.....be very afraid.

The longer Sarah Palin can withstand these attacks the better she does her job as attack dog and shield for McCain. I belive that the level has long been surpassed where anything the media and the Obama campaign does has any effect on her mass appeal.

The smarter pundits among the left have been saying it for over a week to leave Sarah alone and go after McCain - but pride and fear has compelled them to ingore that advice.

And to top it off, the last attack on McCain was his lack of computer expertise.....I’m waiting for the comeback McCain add to point out it was his war injuries that make working at a keyboard is painfull.

I dunno....will a ad campaign picking on a person’s war injury go over well? I didn’t think so.

I have a thought.....wouldn’t you love to be a fly on the wall at Obama’s latest campaign strategy meetings? I swear I can almost hear the Dean Screams from here :-P

They especially hate anyone who throws their crap back in their face. They’re all calling Palin’s speech at the RNC attacks, but all she did was tell the truth, which to a dimlib is like water to someone with rabies.
