Rep. Jack Murtha’s (D-Johnstown) opponent in this year’s congressional race -- Lt. Col. William Russell, a decorated Iraq war veteran who was in the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001 -- has just released an ad titled “In Cold Blood.”

So far, it is one of the most powerful campaign spots to hit the airwaves in the down- ballot races this cycle in the Keystone State.

My son is in Air force ROTC and we were discussing his military options after he graduates.

They had a Marine visit them in their class and my son said he was informed by the Marine there are no ex-Marines.

I told him there is only one Marine that I know that has dishonored himself to the point he would fall into the category of ex-Marine

SSgt. Wuterich has a civil suit against Murtha now that is pending on appeals and probably won’t go forward until after his courts-martial. There’s a possibility other Haditha Marines will sue also.

Yes! One Marine, SSGT Frank Wuterich has filed a defamation and slander lawsuit. The courts have accepted it and some of the other Marines have said they will file as well.

Murtha is a truly despicable man, the lowest of the low. But as great as this ad was it could have been even better. After the news clips quoted Murtha condemning our heros without benefit of trial, the ad should have had, (if possible), the military judges banging their gavels and acquitting the seven of all charges, in rapid succession, and then ended with "American justice, innocent until proven guilty, except in John Murtha's world".

Hopefully the Obombatanic stays the course and McCain can afford to target a few congressional races with Palin.

Defeating Murtha would remove the #1 offender of pork and corruption before they take office. It would be a brilliant move that combined with energy would highlight the need for change in congress. It would also be much appreciated by those in and out of uniform.

If McCain were seen to have contributed to the defeat of Murtha it would strengthen his hand with the Pelosi/Reid congress.
