A new group financed by a Texas billionaire and organized by some of the same political operatives and donors behind the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth campaign against Sen. John F. Kerry in 2004 plans to begin running television ads attacking Barack Obama, a signal that independent groups may play a larger role than anticipated in the closing days of the presidential race.
The American Issues Project has amassed a multimillion-dollar fund, and the group is putting the final touches on an eleventh-hour campaign targeting the Democratic presidential nominee, sources said.

Forget Keery, forget Obama, let’s take down the Washington Post.

Oooo, I can’t wait. Obama is so much worse that Kerry (hard to believe) that it should be a really good ad!!!!
Its about damn time! Where have they been?
Rev up the engines...
I proudly contributed to the swift boat vets.
And I know that had they not come forward, exposed John effin for what he was, and put themselves through all kinds of political scrutiny and left wing unhinged hatred, John Kerry would be president right now.
The usual old media lie. This effort involves some of the contractors who supported the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth, and one of their larger donors. Left intentionally unmentioned is the nonparticipation of any of the Swift Vets themselves.
Will someone finally take the gloves off to deal with Barry, Larry, Beau, and Joe?
Thanks for posting this. I know where my donation is going.
As far as I’m concerned, with the crap they are pulling lately, they desrve whatever we can throw at them.
As with Kerry, they will probably state facts that could only be refuted with evidence the candidate himself fails to provide, because it would be even more damning than the accusation (i.e., it would confirm the attack and then some). I am casting my mind here towards Bill Ayers.
“The effort could mark a sharp turn in what has been an unusually quiet year for outside political groups. At this point in 2004, such groups had already spent about $100 million dollars on television commercials attacking Kerry (D-Mass.) and President Bush, but they have devoted $8 million to ads so far in this election cycle..............”
Comment: interesting. B comes before K, yet they say”attacking Kerry and President Bush, in that order.
....”On the Democratic side, much of that effort appears to be falling to labor unions and a handful of well-known advocacy groups such as MoveOn.org and the Sierra Club. “...
Comment: Of course, evil billionaires “BAD”, but “labor unions” and “well-known advocacy groups good.
Yeah, Moveon.org is an “advocacy group”...talk about lipstick on a pig...
thank god for the Swift Boaters
“Swiftboating” is going to look like “The Love Boat” after the 527’s are done with 0bomba.
Same here. And they will always be doubly heroes in my eyes.
Go Texas!, I’ll take our Billionairs, hell, they hire lots of folks.
Attack on several fronts, keep them confused and busy.
