As Mayor of Wasilla, Palin Cut Own Duties, Left Trail of Bad Blood (here we go again)
Washington Compost ^

Posted on 09/13/2008 6:40:31 PM PDT by Chet 99

WASILLA, Alaska -- On Sept. 24, 2001, Mayor Sarah Palin and the City Council held their first meeting after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The council condemned the attacks and approved a $5,000 gift to a disaster relief fund. Palin said she would try to obtain materials from both attack sites to include in the town's "Honor Garden."

And then the council and mayor returned to their normal business: approving funds to upgrade the public well, issuing a restaurant permit and taking up a measure forbidding residents from operating bed-and-breakfasts in their homes. After a lively debate, the bed-and-breakfast measure lost, 4 to 1.

Since joining the Republican ticket, Palin has faced questions about whether she is qualified to be vice president or, if necessary, president. In response, the first-term Alaska governor and Sen. John McCain point to the executive qualifications she acquired as Wasilla mayor, a six-year stint from 1996 to 2002 that represents the bulk of her political experience.

Perfect. Thanks. :)

What the article says is different than implied by the headline.

We seem to be finding that a lot with these "news" stories as of late, don't we?

This "report" is yet another in the long line of assassination attempts by a democrat party supporter against an innocent Republican.

Alaska’s most unpopular governor with an 80% approval rating.

I'll have you know it's only a mere 86%.

The next big disclosure will be that Sarah did not wash her hands after going to the lady’s restroom sometime in 2004.

Palin got more votes for Mayor than Biden did for President.......

As well, any leader that can’t delegate duties is a health & safety risk trying to micro-manage authority and responsibility. Surround yourself with good people with goods records, and proven to earn your and the voters trust and respect based on RECORDS. Like the record of executive responsibility and decisions for others using their authority. Authority that Obama Bin Biden have never had or exercised. The only records they have are as tools for a socialist democrat party who tell them when and where to vote and when. Two idiots that have run 2 offices of nut huggin staffers versus a city, county or a state.

When they attack on this front they lose . They will continue to lose regardless of the ...””Palin kicked a squirrel when she was two””... news flash politics !

Just my opinion....

Stay safe !

Palin is by far the most popular Governor in the USA with 80% approval.

The Washington Post’s political party has the lowest ratings in the history of the Congress (13% approval)

we have legions of people on this forum that claim the media is dying,

yet, they’re at it again—destroying a republican

they way they destroyed the public image of

president bush, vice president cheney, defense secretary donald rumsfeld

and the list goes on and on...

I only read page one of the four page article because it badly denigrated small towns and claimed that Palin’s biggest accomplishment as mayor was building an ice rink. Come on, do we have to read this sh## for the next 50 days.

Yeah, and of course the MSM never wants to point out that before he began his illustrious (sic) vacuous career in the US Senate in Jan. 2005, with barely a year to go before he started his next full-time political campaign, Obama’s only significant political experience was a few years as an inconsequential nobody in the Illinois State Legislature.

This is part of the genius of the the Palin pick for VP, that no semi-honest person (I know that excludes nearly all Democrats) can criticize Palin’s level of experience without reflecting upon the comparison with Obama. When I have outlined this argument to a couple of Obama cultists I know they just glower in sullen silence with no response at all (and they probably won’t be talking to me much longer). They have no answer on the “experience” argument because it is just so obvious to all that Governor Palin’s experience at least matches (and I would say considerably overshadows) Obama’s own experience. The more she is discussed the more lightweight he appears, because he really is an empty suit.

Where’s Howard Dean these days? He sure is mum on this whole “Sarah-Thang.” *SMIRK*

I think he might be in hiding from the Clintons.

Howie Dean? Yeah, I keep wondering where he is..... either he’s afraid to show himself due to the comparison evoked by running for President after light experience as Governor of the small state of Vermont, or else he is girding himself to do battle once more against eviiilllll Republicans.

I have been wondering when some MSM types will try to explain how both Obama and Dean, the two great heroes of the Daily Kos left, are both so much more “experienced” than Governor Sarah Palin. SO many Democrats thought that both Dean and Obama would so obviously “qualified” to be President..... so look at the back-flips they do trying to explain why Governor Palin is so much less qualified to be only VICE-President.

Hypocrisy, thy name is Democrat Party.
