Now that even Barack Obama has acknowledged that President Bush's surge in Iraq has "succeeded beyond our wildest dreams," maybe it's time the Democratic nominee gives some thought to how that success actually came about -- not just in Ramadi and Baghdad, but in the bureaucratic Beltway infighting out of which the decision to surge emerged.

President Bush has always led well.

Basically, W was not going accept defeat.
How do you go about sending President Bush a thank you note? I’d like to let him know how much I appreciate the job he has done keeping our country safe.
Does he actually get notes that are sent?
After the 2006 election I felt like I was holding my breath, I was so afraid that the President would give in to the pressure being exerted on him, some of which we could see going on and some of which we could not, and allow our military to lose a fight that we here knew they could win.
He did not give in and I am eternally grateful to him for that.
Bush has led honorably. There have been times I criticized him for letting his bully pulpit get dusty, but I believe that history will praise him as the president who first waged war against a nebulus enemy, gave that enemy a name, and began defending our nation again.
I just watched “Obsession” last night. When finished, I asked my husband how we fight militant Islam without going against our 1st amendment guarantees to freedom of religion to all, including Muslims. The best I could come up with would be to come up for a specific term for the militant Muslims and name them as the enemy. Bush did that. He called them terrorists, and declared a war on them for the first time in our nation’s history. For that he lost his popularity, but he did the right thing.

The President’s approval rating is more a reflection of the media’s relentless hostility and libel than the President’s real record.
The British population voted Winston Churchill out of office a few months after the end WWII in Europe.
If McCain is elected and can lead us to victory in Iraq and continue the President’s push back against the Islamic radicals, history and the American people will give him the respect and gratitude he deserves.

The fifth column press has been showing their perfidy, and now they’re actually stepping it up so blatantly that it is unavoidably obvious!

Yes, he has. Hope McCain is truly the maverick he claims to be. I would say President Bush is the true maverick in all this...ignoring his enemies in DC...doing what’s truly best for this country...can McCain do that...doing what’s best for this country?
Yeah, What was it the media said during the 2004 election? President Bush has low approval ratings, the war is unpopular, blah, blah, blah. Yet, he won reelection with the most votes in history.
Read this article this am and saw the Obamination’s meddling earlier. That should put a stake in his heart.
20 years from now President Bush will be remembered as one of the greatest President ever. He changed the course of history in a profound way and toward the better. Only a handful of Presidents have left such a deep impact on the history of human events.
