Islamic law has been officially adopted in Britain, with sharia courts given powers to rule on Muslim civil cases.
The government has quietly sanctioned the powers for sharia judges to rule on cases ranging from divorce and financial disputes to those involving domestic violence.
Rulings issued by a network of five sharia courts are enforceable with the full power of the judicial system, through county courts or the country's High Court, a part of its Supreme Court system.
Previously, the rulings of sharia courts in Britain could not be enforced, and depended on voluntary compliance among Muslims.
Politicians and church leaders expressed concerns that this could mark the beginnings of a “parallel legal system” based on sharia for some British Muslims.
Dominic Grieve, the shadow home secretary, said: “If it is true that these tribunals are passing binding decisions in the areas of family and criminal law, I would like to know which courts are enforcing them because I would consider such action unlawful. British law is absolute and must remain so.”

I doubt they're talking about official courts, but rather private arbitration organizations.
We have those in the US, too- if you want to have a Sharia court serve as the arbitrator for a divorce or financial dispute, you can do so here. Of course, any decision by that court could not violate American law or public policy.
The issue of these courts dealing with domestic violence, if true, is surprising. Here, we're dealing with criminal law, which is something private arbitrators cannot rule on in this country.

Arbitration by private parties is nothing new. But if this article is correct, then the Sharia courts are being allowed to rule on issues of criminal law if they can rule in domestic violence cases.

You know, oddly enough, the left has been protecting sharia law for sssoooo long — what they don’t realize is that were sharia law arrive her on the shores of the US...feminism, homosexuality, sloth, disobedience, adultery, and failure to pay your debts...are all punishable offenses...with very strong emphasis on “punishable.”

And Sharia law hasn’t been imposed on anyone else. It only muslims who agree to accept the right of the sharia court to decide the outcome of certain civil matters, the same as it has been for religious jews in this country for over a century.
There was an inconsistency in the law up until this point. Either the Jewish civil law courts and the Ecclesiastical CoE courts had to go, or Sharia civil courts had to come in...
Do you realize that this means that a Muslim could “believe” that a Brit blasphemed the Koran and justifiably kill him, while a Brit who actually saw a Muslim desecrate a copy of the Bible could (a) criticize him = hate crime = imprisonment, or (b) kill him = murder.

What’s not being explained here, is that judges in England are terrified to rule on any Islamic defendant/party/case which may show up on their docket. Judges and their families are threatened and targeted by hoards of the animals. So given the option, they welcome no longer getting such cases brought before the courts.

There's no indication that Muslims charged with crimes will be tried under Sharia law.
Of course, some will say “So what? People have the right to use whatever arbitration they want.” What they fail to see is that this is based on religion, pressure to use such courts, and the proper civil courts must uphold any decisions made by these cultists.
The women withdrew criminal charges against the husbands. The Sharia courts cannot impose criminal penalties or decide on criminal matters. It is seperate from the civil action taken against someone for a criminal offence, like when somebody is sued for assault seperately to the criminal charge the defendent faces in the criminal courts...

I have no problem with private parties resolving civil disputes through whatever arbitration method they desire. We already do that in the US and it works fine here.
I guess that means beheadings, public stoning of women to death, hand chopping are now going to be Friday night family nights for the Muzzies in the UK, plus any non- Muzzie that agrees to face a sharia law court if he committed a crime against a Muzzie.
