Sacramento, CA (AP) -- The state attorney general's office is fighting an attempt to hold Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in contempt of court for not releasing $8 billion for new inmate medical facilities.

The court-appointed receiver who runs the prison medical system has asked a federal judge in San Francisco to force Schwarzenegger and Controller John Chiang to turn over the money.

But Attorney General Jerry Brown said in a filing Monday that the federal court does not have the authority to require state prison construction.

“But Attorney General Jerry Brown said in a filing Monday that the federal court does not have the authority to require state prison construction.”

It’s somewhat ironic that the liberal nutcase, Jerry Brown, would be making this argument. I thought that was the cardinal principle of liberal thought: politicians just shift the decision making process to the courts.

He may be a liberal, but he knows what the law says....and he's right.

At least in regards to this present subject matter,

I do think the man is on to something.

Meanwhile, the lack and delay of medical treatment for prisoners needing such, is a continuing pain.

Also meanwhile, the prison guards are trying to gin up a recall of the 'Governator'. Looks like the Austrian is in a bit of a crossfire, from two different camps.

Not that there might not be some overlap between the interests of the two.

Gosh, I bet Alaska doesn’t have this problem. Who wants to live in alaska, and work hard in the freezing winter when you can enjoy the life of crime or entitlement in lovely San Fran or LA?

I don’t see a lot of illegal criminals running up to Wassila!

I guess you haven't heard: Aztlan has decided that once Alaska was part of Mexico and must be returned, just as are all the territories captured from Mexico after the Mexican-American War.

Jerry Brown was the first national politician to call out Hillary Clinton’s corruption, so he deserves a little credit.

The simpleton attempt at cracking wise, fails to impress.

Your pathetic post, shows much ignorance, too.

...ignorance of what is required by law, ignorance of the morality that lead to the writing of such law(s), which is coming from the same exact place that the "laws" that put prisoners behind bars did, in the first place. And that's just for "starters", though it is indeed, much more explanation than you deserve.

One conclusion can be drawn: if the Mexicans ever get control of Alaska, PEMEX will be drilling in ANWAR within six months.

Maybe you mean the first Dem politician. We’ve been ranting about Hillary’s corruption since she was in Arkansas.

There were plenty of local complaints about Hillary before 1992, but I'm talking about at the national level. If you are aware of another national politician who called out Hillary Clinton's corruption before Jerry Brown did in 1992, please let me know.
