The neocons' Palin project
Patrick J. Buchanan, Creators Syndicate, Inc.
Monday, September 15, 2008
Will the neocons who tutored President Bush in the ideology he pursued to the ruin of his presidency do the same for GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin?
Should they succeed, they will destroy her. Yet, they are moving even now to capture this princess of the right and hope of the party.
In St. Paul, Palin was told to cancel a meeting with Phyllis Schlafly and pro-life conservatives. McCain's operatives said Palin had to rest for her Wednesday convention speech.
Yet, on Tuesday, Palin was behind closed doors with Joe Lieberman and officials of the Israeli lobby AIPAC. There, according to the Washington Post, Palin took and passed her oral exams.

I usually get a little more than halfway through before I stop paying attention to myself.
PATRICK. PATRICK. PATRICK ...
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
Pat’s a deebagcon.
’ But make no mistake. Sarah Palin is no neocon. She did not come by her beliefs by studying Leo Strauss. She is a traditionalist whose values are those of family, faith, community and country, not some utopian ideology.
Wasilla, Alaska, is not a natural habitat of neoconservatives.’
this article should be published in every single Jewish newspaper :)
Neocons are not Jews. Neocons are people who support preemptive wars and are liberal on domestic issues. People like Rudy Giuliani and Ed Koch.
From what I’ve seen so far, Governor Palin does not play well with the good old boys.
who was it Pat followed to his total and complete failure?
This article will probably get pulled
‘Palin may disappoint many conservatives in the next seven weeks by having to parrot the McCain-neocon line on NATO expansion, NAFTA and a “path to citizenship” for illegal aliens. But the battle for Palin’s soul is not over.’
IMO Pats’ got it right.......again!
“Palin also volunteered that the Russian invasion was “unprovoked,” though Georgia attacked South Ossetia first.”

Pat is a Democrat. He favors:
1. higher taxes
2. restrictions on freedom
Those are core Democrat values.
But on the other hand Phyllis Schlafly has always been my favorite cold Yankee lady. She wrote a little book about Prez Ford being manipulated by the same type of “sophistos” in AMBUSH AT VLADIVOSTOK. Now it does really look like the lib wing of the GOP is trying to sequester our Sarah.

That is not the language of empire or “benevolent global hegemony.”
I don’t want that. I want the US to stop pressuring Israel and to go after islamic terrorists
The excerpt was as much as I could read. I used to really admire Buchanan, but he’s just become a miserable wretch since he lost that IA straw poll a few years back. And he can barely contain ...hell, he doens’t contain .. his anti-semitism.
“IMO Pats got it right.......again!”
You are of course referring to his finger in his Right Nostril, correct?
But, I'll take your bait. If Pat is a Dem, then Pres. Bush is a Socialist.
Open borders, Billions for AIDS to Africa, Financial Bailouts, etc.
Recently I noticed that when Pat Buchanan is on some panel on TV, I actually look forward to hearing what he has to say more than the other panelists. I was trying to figure out why this is and I realized that part of the reason is that I like Pat Buchanan's voice.
Reagan was a neo-con
WHat a frickin insult. As if Bush was brainwashed to be who he is. And as if Palin will get the same treatment. ANyone who doesn’t subscribe to Buchanan’s limp wristed foreign policy is a neocon? What rubbish.
Folks, you can put your head in the sand but it’s obvious she’s only hearing the neoconservative side... and that is mainly a problem because it seems so obvious. She needs to be exposed to other views...
Ok, well then I will drop it.
well I’m sure she’s been exposed to Obama’s foreign policy which isn’t that much different than Pat’s...
Considering that article came out of SF, it sounds like a crock...
Nobody but Sarah Palin owns her soul...She is bright and quick enough to be a team player but also she knows how to do the right thing..Don’t get in a dither- remember the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world...and Sarah can Rock..
Yikes, Pat has lost it.
What makes you think that Sarah Palin doesn't already know the Pat Buchanan head-in-the-sand point of view?
The nature of your post reminds me of Charlie Palin-needs-to-learn-a-few-things Gibson.
Three times she said that, should Israel decide to attack Iran, the United States should not "second guess" Israel's decision or interfere. This contradicts U.S. policy.Good. We want change from 12 years of Bush/Baker; W Bush/Powell/Rice.
What he says is basically correct. Except Palin indicates that Israel should do it not us. Shows she and probably w have not bought into neocon thinking, if in fact they are as Pat says .
Where's your finger?
It's condescending and Gibson-esque, isn't it.
It's a codeword people like Buchanan use for Jews.
Hey, be nice to Pat; he lost a relative at Auschwitz during the holocaust. Fell out of a guard tower. [rimshot]
If Pat has a headache, he blames the pernicious neo-cons. He's a monomaniac on the subject or neo-cons.
Only a hit piece on Governor Palin could get the Chronicle to print an op-ed by a raving anti-Semite like Pat Buchanan.
Sure Pat, it's all the Jooze. They're skeemin' to take over the world.
Would that you, Mr. Buchanan, manifest even a little of the love that this woman has shown toward her fellow humans and particularly toward the most vunerable of us.
When I saw the headline for this article in the sidebar, I knew even before clicking on it that it had to be by Pat Buchanan.
Brother Buchanan, off the reservation, AGAIN!
Two great articles in a row and now this tripe.
Not a sure thing, strictly speakin’, only 99%.
Fair enough. Could have been David Duke.
Dog, vomit; fool, folly.
Its ugly when a paleo-conservative changes direction and starts spewing the Libertarian propaganda of Bob Barr and Ron Paul. Downright ugly!
Yeah Pat really fits well into that SF Chronicle place.
Buchanan and Baker would restrain and punish Israel for going after their muslim oil buddies
maybe he’s being ‘converted’ by Rachel Maddow
