History Dept. Chair: Palin Somehow Connected to Pacific Northwest Hate Groups
NewsBusters ^ | September 16, 2008 | P.J. Gladnick

Posted on 09/16/2008 7:04:51 AM PDT by PJ-Comix

The chair of the Connecticut College history department, Catherine McNicol Stock, has suggested that Sarah Palin is somehow associated with Pacific Northwest hate groups such as Posse Comitatus and the Aryan Nations. Her proof? Well, because Palin lived in areas with low "diversity." I kid you not. Here is the professor's "learned thesis" presented in a Philadelphia Inquirer opinion column melodramatically titled, "Intolerance thrives in Palin's Pacific Northwest" (emphasis mine):

Despite her efforts to portray herself as an average, small-town, "folksy" American, Sarah Palin's political views - ardently pro-gun, pro-censorship, antichoice and antigay - make John McCain's conservative credentials pale in comparison. What few observers have said, however, is these beliefs are not just extreme - they are radical, and even bear a comparison with some of the most notorious "rural radicals" of our time.

It has been years since groups such as the Montana Militia, the Posse Comitatus and the Sagebrush Rebels, and individuals such as Terry Nichols and Ted Kaczynski have made us wonder why so many "angry white men" populated our rural regions. Many of us have forgotten the threat once posed by domestic terrorists and instead have turned our attention to foreign terrorists. But we should never forget that in the late 20th century, ultra-Christian, antistatist and white-supremacist groups flourished in the states of the Pacific Northwest - called by many the "Great White Northwest" - the very region that Sarah Palin and her family call home.

Got that not so subtle connection between Sarah Palin and the Unabomber? And all because of Sarah Palin's choice of a region to call home. Stock then presents us her theory for all this supposed hate in the Pacific Northwest...lack of diversity:

This is the same mentality as Obama’s “clinging to guns and religion” comment. Prejudice and bigotry is not always due to race. These people are snobby, arrogant elitists who believe they are smarter and better than we uncivilized Westerners.

I am waiting for her to write a similar column about how living in Chicago associates you with 1960s terrorists groups such as the WeatherUnderground. No, wait, no need, Obama actually KNOWS such a dude and has often worked with him. What gives?

The biggest and most organized hate group in America is the Democrat party. Palin is not a member of that group.

Let me get this straight. If you happen to live in a “low diversity” area, then you are by default, aligning yourself with hate groups? If you actually follow that line of thinking then probably 80% of the geographical area of the United States is “hate country”. The McCain/Palin campaign has it correct when they are putting “country first”. They are including everybody, everywhere, everyday.
Only those who preach “white guilt” can put out such stupid words and actually believe them.

this idiot is clearly unaware that Sarah is married to a non-white man (yes, Todd Palin is more Eskimo than Barak is black) and all 5 of Sarah’s kids are not 100% white. It has become laughable what kind of crazy theories people will come up with to discredit Sarah and her family.

I wonder if Stock realizes that most of these neotardnazi groups are Marxists who happen to believe in owning guns? I have a feeling she has a lot more in common with them than Palin does. Racism, after all, is the ultimate form of collectivism.

Well of course, here it comes. Sarah Palin is obviously a racist and bigoted homophobe. As a committed Christian what else could she be?

And she’s corrupt because of that “Trooper Gate” probe in Alaska that the MSM keeps trying to push.

And she’s obviously a bad mother because her daughter came home pregnant without a husband. OMG, she didn’t explain the facts of life to her little girl. And since people like Sarah want abstinence education, see what it gets you. Tsk Tsk. Sarah should have shown her daughter how to use pills and condoms.

And what is she going to do with that baby when she’s Vice-President? Why was Sarah pregnant at age 43 in the first place? What the heck were she and her husband doing?

And Alaska is a small insignificant state. It’s not even connected to the lower 48 states, so it doesn’t really count.

And being governor of Alaska doesn’t count. Being a senator from important states like Illinois and Delaware is the most important experience one needs to be president.

And is she really ready to be a heartbeat away from the Oval Office?

And, she was Sarah Barracuda when she played basketball. She wasn’t nice to the opposing team.

And Sarah will bring back the days of the coat hanger abortion. She’s against abortion, so she’s going to influence McCain to pick pro-life judges.

And remember Whoopi Goldberg is worried about having to be a slave if McCain/Palin win the election. Obviously Sarah’s clear bigotry on the subject will send Whoopi to the back of the bus, and back to the cotton plantation.

any other ideas of how America will descend into a thousand years of darkness if McCain and Palin win this election?

Chair of the History Department? History has now become an exercise in deconstructing history. Left-leaning historians see ghosts in every closet, but they can’t see the obvious.

How many historical tomes are there about the fall of the Soviet Union, one of the most important and consequential events in recent history?

Good lord.... History Professors in Connecticut really must not be required to know geography. Alaska is not “the Pacific Northwest” (which is essentially Washington, Oregon, and sometimes Idaho) ... and as it turns out, Montana is closer to Connecticut than it is to Wasilla.

What does this say about her “objectivity” and competence as an academic historian?

Being a Christian (clinging to my guns and religion) I belong to a "hate group"

I hate Satan and evil and wickedness.

I hate Communism, Marxisim/Leninism, Socialism, Liberalism, Collectivism, Elitism and Paganism.

Perhaps, I need to become enlightened and more 'progressive'. I'm way to simple-minded and ignorant I guess...in other words: a stupid 'flyover American'.

This is from memory so some of the facts might be off, but around 84 Howard Stern ran a political parody about a Presidential Candidate. Basically the guy was a former Nazi running for president. Bad Sgt. Schultz accent, policies that would have put Hitler to shame. Any one with any intelligence could tell it was a parody. Except from what was reported the fake candidate got 5000 write in Votes in Conn. I guess all the hate groups moved to the North west afterwords. This Prof. is a typical delusional, liberal loon.

It gets worse! I can now reveal that it seems the professor is carrying out this vendetta against Mrs Palin because she is a satanist/witch with a deeply suppressed and morbid jealousy of the Governor! Catherine McNicol Stock becomes “Necromantic closet hick” if you just rearrange the letters about! Can we really believe she did not know this? After all, its HER name. Ok her parents chose it, but she has never renounced it! She goes around USING the name! The association is blindingly obvious! (well it is if you follow the Professors own tortured line of blame trails, anyway)

The brain functions, the mouth moves, the feelings no doubt predominate, but Mr Reason and Mr Logic have long since left the building, haven’t they, Professor Stock?

Ah, but Sarah was born in Idaho, and though she lived her whole life in Alaska, she also went to college in Idaho.

So that’s enough to give her the connection to the Aryan Nations stronghold in Idaho.

It’s guilt by association. That’s the game these leftists are playing here.
