Freepers can we please not panic about the polls today? (vanity)

Lets try and stay positive regardless of what we see today. I have a feeling there might be a slight shift back to Bambi in the tracking polls. Most likely due to the financial "crisis" and the non-stop attacks against Gov Palin.

We have alot of work to do and lets stay the course!

The only poll that matters is on election day.
The entertaining polls will be after the first debate.

They’re irrelevant anyways unti the Presidential debates start.

This site shows 2004 polls compared to actual results: http://www.electoral-vote.com

The only people that panic are those who aren’t doing anything for the election but sitting on their butts and reading polls. As if reporting them and reacting to them is a contribution.

We had these same people here in 2000, 2002, 2004 (they were hyper annoying then), 2006, and now.

We are Republicans, we are used to be being behind and attacked in the Media, a shift in a poll means very little to us.

Over 3 point error of margin...statistical dead heat, just like when McCain’s ahead by 2...national polls this close, either with McCain or Obama ahead don’t mean much.

However, this poll was not influenced by the Wall Street meltdown this week (from the article): The poll, taken Thursday through Saturday, follows a hectic month in the race to the November 4 election as both parties held their nominating conventions and both candidates selected their vice presidential running mates.

Freepers can we please not panic about the polls today?

We must keep in mind, Mondale, Dukakis, Gore, and Kerry were ALL leading in the polls in the run up to the election.

well jeez. just last week i saw a thread with the title, "He can't win. He won't win. (Obama)"

i said it was silly and that if we become too complacent people will stay home thinking we have this thing all wrapped up. we don't!

people around here need to stop saying that this race is over.

Interesting quote if you read all the way through the article to the last paragraphs:

The poll found McCain and Obama were in an absolute dead heat at 45 percent when independent candidate Ralph Nader and Libertarian Party candidate Bob Barr were added to the mix. Nader earned 2 percent and Barr 1 percent of the vote.

So Nader and Barr hurt Obama more than McCain.

Understand that the leftist media has to spin that the polls are close or are leaning McCain’s way. Obama has a lot of money to raise and can only do it if he is leading or close. If we look at all the other polls from 8 years ago you will see them close or the Dems leading. Deja vu all over again. We just need for conservatives to continue to volunteer and get out the vote. This will be another close election but McCain will win if conservatives get out and vote.

It’s really simple. I honestly can’t even imagine Obama winning. In fact, I expect a significant McGovern-esque defeat of Obama. (Even though sometimes I wonder, and worry a little.)

Obama is a racist.
Obama is a Marxist.
Obama is a muslim sympathizer.

All of those things can be proven beyond reasonable doubt. If Americans elect this man as President, America will deserve the ills that will come her way. A country that will elect Barack Hussien Obama in a time of war with islamic extremists is a country that I don’t recognize, and a country bent on self destruction.

Condolences appreciated!! When GWB won the last election, one professor remained out of sight for a week. One of his staff said he was depressed and would not come out of his office! HA! What I have noticed this year is a few die hard dems saying they will vote Republican for the FIRST TIME EVER. So . . . I remain hopeful but alert!!

Piece of advice...This morning I'll be at a women's bible study and we are going to dedicate our time to pray for McPal and the election. Instead of harping on polls, dedicate today as a day of fasting and praying. This is a war between GOOD and EVIL. The mediaPUKES and the RATS are EVIL directly from the PIT OF HELL. God is still in control and I am going on a limb here...McPal WILL get elected...why you ask me...BECAUSE I HAVE FAITH. We are facing giants and God will be before us in this battle. SO PRAY...GO OUT ON A LIMB and put your faith and the election in GOD'S hand. ON TO VICTORY! God is not through with THE UNITED STATES YET!!

Panic over a Zogby poll?? I don’t understand the question. Rasmussen has McCain’s lead holding at 1% today. That would seem to indicate there has been no deterioration over the last couple of nights because of the financial situation. I think the race is holding steady and that McCain has a very slight lead going into the debates. We’re in good shape.

I have a prof-pal and his hope for the future is parents keeping their kids out of college! His own conservative raised children ended up totally brainwashed and had to be de-programed after graduating from the local MEGA-liberal university.

“McPal WILL get elected...why you ask me...BECAUSE I HAVE FAITH.”

I pray you’re right. I think that if Obama does win it’ll be obvious what God has planned for America and the world. This from a friend’s email:

“Revelation Chapter 13 tells us the beast is allowed to have authority for 42 months — almost a four-year term of a Presidency.

According to The Book of Revelation the anti-Christ will
be a man, in his 40s, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a massive Christ-like appeal. The prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace,
and when he is in power, will destroy everything.”

If McCain wins it’ll show God has mercy on America in spite of how far we’ve fallen from Him. (I think this will happen, considering Palin’s appearnce on the scene which seems to be a miracle.) But if Obama wins we can be pretty sure we’re winding down and we’re definitely in end times. Whomever wins, it’ll be in God’s plan.

But even now, though America looks a lot like Sodom and Gomorrah, we can still change God's heart towards our land. Example, Abraham. He seeks a handful of righteous, God fearing, prayer warriors. NO, I really believe, God will help us elect McPal if we are faithful to believe. Call me crazy, call me whatever, God WILL help us in our time of need. Example number two: W in 2000 he won by what 300+ votes. No matter HOW hard the evil RATS tried to cheat, God was in control.(ugh, I never want to go through that again) He promised it in his word!

Exactly. ‘Rats do it all the time to make their followers believe they’re winning.

On a side note, I’ve noticed the following:

The people attending Obama Soetoro Obama/Biden’s appearances are wanting to get something from Washington.

The people attending McCain/Palin appearances are wanting to put something in Washington.
