I notice that Jack Reed and Chuck Hagel were with him. I wonder if they may been complicit in this?

Yes, he said that BO asked the Iraqi leader to hold off on the draw down on American troops until after the next Administration comes in. He also said that BO actually said this to NBC news in June.

The only places I’ve heard it discussed are on Foxnews and Rush. What a shame.

The beauty is that Obama can’t deny it - his own people confirmed he did press for a delay.

Here is how NBC reported Obama’s position on June 16, after his conversation in the US with Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari: “Obama also told Zebari, he said, that Congress should be involved in any negotiations regarding a Status of Forces Agreement with Iraq. He suggested it may be better to wait until the next administration to negotiate such an agreement.”

In other words, Obama wanted a delay on the Status of Forces Agreement, not on the Strategic Framework Agreement — as his rebuttal now claims.

The NBC report continues: “Asked by NBC’s Lee Cowan if a timetable for the Status of Forces Agreement was discussed, Obama said, ‘Well he, the foreign minister, had presented a letter requesting an extension of the UN resolution until the end of this year. So that’s a six-month extension.’”

That Obama was aware that the two accords couldn’t be separated is clear in his words to NBC:

“Obviously, we can’t have US forces operating on the ground in Iraq without some sort of agreement, either a further extension of the UN resolution or some sort of Status of Forces agreement, some strategic framework agreement. As I said before, my concern is that the Bush administration — in a weakened state politically — ends up trying to rush an agreement that in some ways might be binding to the next administration, whether it was my administration or Sen. McCain’ s administration.” (Emphasis added.)

Obama also told NBC: “The foreign minister agreed that the next administration should not be bound by an agreement that’s currently made, but I think the only way to assure that is to make sure that there is strong bipartisan support, that Congress is involved, that the American people know the outlines of this agreement.

“And my concern is that if the Bush administration negotiates, as it currently has, and given that we’re entering into the heat of political season, that we’re probably better off not trying to complete a hard-and-fast agreement before the next administration takes office, but I think obviously these conversations have to continue.

Did anyone record this? I missed it.

If so, could you post it on YT and send me a link or post it here?

(I tried to transcribe, folks...no coffee yet so here goes)

Amir repeated what Barry told NBC on June 16th...then showed an Arab newspaper where Zebari confirms Amir's report that Barry told them the present Administration is weak, we are waiting for elections and to delay. Brian reads Barry's response denying Amir's report which they call a McCain commercial. Amir says he has no contact with McCain/Palin. All I have is this quote from the Foreign Minister--Obama asked me why in view of the closeness of a change in Administation we have got hurrying the signing of this special agreement and why we did not wait until the coming of the new Administration next year and agree on some issues and matters at that time.

Amir said that Barry has always been against an agreement of the present Administration so if he's changed his mind now the shortest way is to say he supports these agreements between Iraq and the US. Gretchen asks if the Foreign Minister listens to the current President or a possible future President. Amir says of course he listens to the President but don't forget but there is possibility of a new Administration and how will it work with Iraq and will it reverse policies.

Brian asks if Maliki was told that Barry would win and almost seemed to endorse him as he talked of Barry's timetables. Amir says the question is not that--it is that you have this candidate telling the Iraqis that if you reach an agreement with the present Administration, it will not necessarily be binding with me in a future Administration. This is unique in the history of international affairs because in any country you have one government at a time. Nobody should try to preempt.

Gretchen asks if anyone else was there to verify this. Amir says Barry SAID it! His statements are on video with NBC news. And the Iraqi media says it. The easiest way is to say he supports the current negotiations and does not want them delayed!

new Obama talking meme is out.

bob beckel was on FNF and was repeatedly saying a McCain win is wishful thinking. He also did a “congrats” to mccain hanging in there because NOBODY gets a third term.

IOW: imply impossiblity, imply mccain is old man keeping up with youngster, and most important push the obama talking point of “third term”.

coupled with obama pushing the “get in your neigbor’s face”
jamming strategy, it seems things are going to be VERY ugly soon.

John Gibson interviewed him on his radio show yesterday, but it hasn’t been posted. It was very informative so I hope it gets circulated soon.

Obama’s reaction to Obama’s effort to keep the troops in Iraq so Obama can get credit for pulling them out will be to ridicule McCain.

Obama does not win on merits, he just attacks to remove opposition on technical aspects.

so obama will simply respond with ridicule.
