I dug up another quote by Sarah Palin and I thought readers should consider just how deeply offensive appeals to God during war time are.
It has been fun watching the Democrats and the media gun for Governor Sarah Palin. And when they dug up that terrible dirt about her claiming our troops fighting in Iraq were doing God's work, I was appalled. So I dug up another quote by Palin and I thought readers should consider just how deeply offensive appeals to God during war time are.
Well, I will tell you how it was. In the pinch of the campaign in Iraq when everybody seemed panic stricken and nobody could tell what was going to happen, oppressed by the gravity of our affairs, I went to my room one day and locked the door and got down on my knees before Almighty God and prayed to Him mightily for victory. I told Him that this war was His war, and our cause His cause, but we could not stand another 9/11 . . . And after that, I don't know how it was, and I cannot explain it, but soon a sweet comfort crept into my soul. The feeling came that God had taken the whole business into His own hands and that things would go right in Iraq . . .
So much for separating God from our war against terrorism! Maybe Jeremy Gerard at Bloomberg News was right when he wrote: Gibson didn't ask (Palin) if she has any clue about the principle of separation of church and state on which her beloved United States was founded. I wish he had.
Shame on Sarah Palin! Only one problem. This is not a Sarah Palin quote (sorry for that little act of deception). Substitute the appropriate battles (Gettysburg and Chancellorsville ) and this is Abraham Lincoln, by many considered our greatest president, seeking Gods help and guidance during a difficult time during the Civil War. (And of course we have those on the Left comparing Senator Obama to Jesus, the latest community organizer and, geez, I thought he was preaching, not getting out the vote . . . oh well.)
Now, that said, let me be perfectly clear. Sarah Palin may not be ready to be president (she has more experience than Lincoln, but then Lincoln wasnt spared personal attacks either). But is she any less qualified than Barack Obama who heads the ticket for the Democrats? They are both smart, charismatic leaders who, with a little seasoning, could be ready for the presidency in a few years, assuming you agree with them on the issues.
The problem for those supporting Senator Obama is that he is heading up the Democratic ticket and Governor Palin is the Vice Presidential candidate for the Republicans. The person running with the most experience and best equipped to be commander in chief is John McCain. Second most qualified, if you consider years of experience and exposure to international issues, is of course Senator Biden. Should we lobby for a McCain-Biden ticket?
The hysteria being displayed by the liberal-left over Palin is the hysteria of those who sense, rightly or not, power slipping from their grasp. She has a nice quality about her a real, authentic voice that does not have the slippery feel of the Obama-Clinton style.
People like it. They like McCain for the same reason. The guy is real. He doesnt duck and weave and bob he just says it the way he sees it. So does Palin.
But in fairness, Obama has been in the national limelight for more than a year and he has been to a degree exposed to the American people. Palin is new on the national stage so it is legitimate to ask questions about her experience, her abilities and her positions on issues.
What is not legitimate is the kind of trash journalism and commentary being practiced by the celebrity/media Left at her expense. What is not acceptable is applying one standard to Palin, and another to Obama and the Democrats. It is a sad day for the Democratic Party and their friends in the media when they are concerned about a 17-year-old girl being pregnant but lionize two former married presidents who used their power to maneuver girls not much older than 17 into situations where they might have gotten pregnant. Please.
Here is the good news. Most Americans, I believe, are capable of seeing through the leftist agenda and getting to the heart of things. At the end of the day, Senator Obama is to the far left on domestic issues, lacks foreign policy experience and savvy and has barely functioned as a U.S. Senator.
Dont blame Palin, Democrats, because you selected a guy who probably needed another four years. The Republicans chose a soldier and a leader who has been consulting with presidents for nearly 30 years. God willing, Palin will get the time she needs to expand her portfolio of experience and she sure as heck is smart enough and savvy enough to function at the highest levels of our government.
But come November, the presidential candidate for the Democrats will be a man who has spent less time as a functioning member of the Senate than Palin has as an active Governor running a state. American voters will have to judge if they think he is better prepared than McCain; heck, they might even pray about it.
I am under 45 years old. I love the outdoors and I hunt. I am a Republican reformer. I have taken on the my Republican Party establishment. I have many children.
I have a spot on the national ticket as Vice President with less than two years in the governor's office.
Did you guess??? . . . . . I am Teddy Roosevelt.
Hmmmm..So Sarah Palin is not qualified ??????
Often said, and proven by you,
a picture is worth a thousand words.
lincoln, our greatest potus?????
The more the MSM and DNC try to either smear, besmirch, or twist Sarah Palin's words and experience, the more people all over the country will be drawn to her.
It's because of something the left and the elite cannot comprehend and are blind to.
Sarah connects with everyday people. She was mother who wanted to make a difference in her community and joined the PTA and it went from there. She didn't need an ivy league degree in Political Science, she didn't need a law degree, she didnt need rich connections, she just needed honesty, integrity, her faith, and a desire to serve.
She didn't seek wealth, power, or high position...it just happened and that connects with most Americans of all stripes (outside of the leftists and elitists whom she threatens) who in their hearts want to try and help their communities and improve things for their kids.
As a result, Sarah Palin is shaking the Democratic leftist-liberal house to its foundation, and bringing it down. She and her family, their faith, their values, and their story represent the absolute refutation of all the tired old liberal mantras and victimology that they malignantly use to mentally, pshycologically, and financially enslave whole classes of people.
From women's rights, to family values, to gun rights, to abortion, to energy policy, to taxation, to envrionmentalism, and on and on...she is a wrecking ball to the leftist, liberal, socialist house.
Plant the story that the Gov uses personal email for state business.
Hack her personal email.
Manufacture fake but accurate government business email and distribute to the press at the most opportune time (from the Obama perspective).
McCain/Palin must get out front of this story and raise questions about the authenticity of anything "official" that hits the news wires.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
....’The Secret Service contacted The Associated Press on Wednesday and asked for copies of the leaked e-mails, which circulated widely on the Internet. The AP did not comply’...
That cartoon really says it all.
Well, then, Mr. George Shadroui, your "thought" isn't good for much, since the very men who founded this nation appealed to a Higher power on many occasions during the Revolutionary War.
I discount this diatribe as more lies to discredit Mrs. Palin, in any case; agitprop, pure and simple.
He didn’t fool me because I KNOW that Lincoln quote.
I think you need to re read the article.
Time for coffee...
Read the article much?
Recognize sarcasm much?
Keep reading Joe...he’s on your side.
Recognize sarcasm much?
Read follow up posts much? (Hint: It's #14)
My wife and I after watching the hannity interview with Sarah Palin...”She says just what I would like to say but don’t have the forum!!!!” Way to go, Sarah....sounds like most everyday Americans....
My first response would be to simply immediately begin refusing press credentials to McCain/Palin events. And in return for granting them to others I would require them to pledge to ‘out’ the AP on any pictures or info coming from the event. When a member posts a an image or story on the AP wire they can ‘out’ specific publications and uses for the image(s). It's not uncommon for a newspaper to put the line “no mags/no sales/no dailies” in the area where the poster specifies outs. When the Tampa Tribune puts local images on the wire they routinely out the St. Pete Times, the Lakeland Ledger/the Bradenton Herald and specify no magazines.
I don't think it's possible to overstate the importance of this election to the future of the United States. Thankfully, the differences between the candidates is so striking that it should be possible, for the willing, to make it a clear cut choice at the polls between America as America and America as Europe-Lite.
It's going to be dicey, but we got to have the testicular fortitude to adopt a “PC be damned” approach and let it all hang out. I'm not an advertising/marketing person, but surely a country that has the talent to convince the world one mascara is better than another has the talent to make sure anyone who votes on Nov. 4th knows the stakes.
I can't tell you how happy I am to know it's John McCain that's on the ticket and not Dubya. As much as I like and respect Dubya he's not the man for the job at this point. He was great for post 9-11 and the WOT, but when it comes to standing up to the opposition McCain/Palin is the ticket!
Sarah gives the libs another kick in the butt.
Yes. I did not see that before I posted. I made my post a mere 46 seconds after yours, which means my fumble fingers were typing mine while you were posting.
Have a good day!

The World Hates the Disciples
18”If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’[a] If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me. 22If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin. 23He who hates me hates my Father as well. 24If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. 25But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason.’
