Groups withdraw Sarah Palin invitation

WASHINGTON - The organizers of an anti-Iran rally at the United Nations Monday have withdrawn their invitation for Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to speak, fearing that her appearance would give the event a partisan cast.

Hillary Rodham Clinton made headlines Wednesday when she dropped out of the rally, after organizers invited Palin without telling her. But amid that controversy, the groups have decided to go without Palin as well, out of concern that having only the Republican vice presidential nominee appear would overshadow their bipartisan opposition to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Hi folks,
I know this is old news at this point, but I took the trouble (much to my employer's chagrin) of getting all the email contacts for members of the Conference of Presidents.

I dashed off a quick email to let them know what I think of them. Maybe you'd like to do the same...

Dear sirs,

I awoke this morning to the news that the Conference of Presidents of Major Jewish Organizations has withdrawn their invitation to Gov. Palin, ostensibly, because Senator Clinton declined your invitation because of the Governor's presence. I know that you are a member of this group.

I find this to be a disgusting display of blind partisanship on your part.

I will therefore, withdraw my support for your organization.

Mark Levin had a great monologue on this yesterday. Hillary is scared of Palin. This will drive yet another nail into BO’s coffin!

This definitely tells us how serious these groups are about their cause - just more NGOs with causes drummed up to reap contributions and grant money.

Why not have Sarah Palin visit New York anyways, just someplace else? BTW, a McCain/Palin tour of the northeastern states would successfully send a shiver down most leftists political spines (if leftists have political spines to begin with).

I'm not going if she's going."
"If that's how you feel, we'll 'uninvite' her."
"No. It's too late. Any way, the point is you invited her. Do you like her as much as me?"

This is the sort of drama that high school sophomore girls engage in . . . and Hillary still thinks
she's qualified to be president of the United States.

This is just moronic. Here was a chance for a group to have members of both political parties attend, which would be a strong show of bipartisanship at an event displaying opposition to Ahmadinejad. And then, they dis-invite two people who might have a strong impact on Iranian policy in the near future.

Well boohoo! I wonder if they told Governer Palin that Hillary was invited. I'm sick of these democrat drama queens and the slobbering media. Clinton, Obama and Biden were all invited and declined. Gov Palin was the only one willing to stand with them and the media made it sound like all the controversey was McCain and Palins fault.

Don’t withdraw support from all of the organizations. Many weren’t happy with the actions of the Pres. of COP. I can guarantee that the ZOA is a true supporter of Israel and Zionism.

It’s amazing that Hillary must be informed of invitees - and have final approval before she will attend a PUBLIC EVENT.

Neither Hillary or Michelle have the nerve to appear on the same stage as Sarah...
Sarah has the visual and undeniable ability to highlight the fact that the other two woman are angry, hateful, vengeful and unaccomplished on their own.......

Sarah is a woman who got to the “stage” by virtue of her OWN EFFORTS and ABILITIES..

We would never have heard of either Hillary or Michelle if not through the activity of their %&^$%& husbands.

Funny you should say that.

Just about the time you posted that, I got an e mail from ZOA saying that they were completely against the removal of Sarah. I've had excellent interactions with some of their members, so I'm glad to see they're not in support of this, and I responded to them as such.

I kind of figured it wasn't a unanimous decision, but hopefully this will spur some pushback from the groups on the RIGHT side.

There are people who are surrounded by bigots
and know it is wrong, but are afraid to be vocal against it.
These people are going to pull the lever for Obama
and they are not being polled.
