As soon as I hit post it came to mind I should check Staples. duh. :o)
” Why do you think they do this stuff? It’s precisely to get people like us to be afraid and stop publicly supporting our candidate.
Fear not. Our country is at stake here!”

Well said! I proudly sport a McCain sticker taped to the center of my back window on the inside so that it cannot be defaced. The day I no longer have the courage to do this is the day that I give up my freedom.
I don’t understand it either. Iraqi’s went to the poll booths and had their fingers painted. Americans won’t show who they support? Sad state of affairs.
Nothing is Free, Intrustion of Privacy is not what the Internet should be about, David Kernell illegally obtained information that was not his, and posted it out there for all the nut jobs and Obama to see. He needs to suffer the consequences.
I live in what’s known here as Fairie Prairie..’bout 1.5 hrs east of you. But you’re right. As an American citizen and one whom loves her country dearly, I should do what’s right, no matter what the left thinks.
I was thinking of putting a sign on my front yard, but these leftists are really deranged. No point in putting my property and more importantly my family possibly in danger because of these Obama thugs.
Maybe you'll rest easier if there's also an NRA sticker on the car, and a sign near the yard sign saying "We dial (1)911." After all, the vast majority of lefties aren't exactly known for their courage - as personified by the little pr!ck that pulled this stunt anonymously.
I normally don't put election stickers on my car, but I'm going to this time...
My car is getting old and it's more than paid for. I just hope no crazies follow me home. Good thing I live in a red state/county/city.
Agreed!
If someone taunts, touches or terrorizes you or your car because you have a McCain/Palin sticker - take a picture of the car or the enraged leftists and send it to your local paper. Write up your experience and out them as the bullies they are.
I’m not scared, bring it on.
In 2004, I posted a question on this board about what to do about a co-worker who had said something threatening about President Bush. The president was coming here to the speedway, and the co-worker said "I bought a gun for the occasion." My brother, who was a police officer, as well as all the Freepers who weighed in, convinced me I needed to contact the Secret Service. I did so immediately, calling the Orlando field office, and was told they would investigate.
About 4-5 weeks later, the Secret Service showed up at my place of business. They had never followed up on the phone call I made to their field office. The agent told me that he was following up on the posting that I'd made to Free Republic, which was why it took so long, because they had to subpoena records to find out my identity.
Not exactly a shining example of competence on their part.
“Fear not. Our country is at stake here!”
Damn straight! I’m going to put my “VPILF” sticker on the truck today!
Here in MA, I've had a NObama sticker on my car for almost the entire year, and I haven't had any trouble. I've even had a few compliments. So be not afraid. Give 'em hell!
FR needs to be very, very careful about running with this story. Hear me out.
The Tennessean does NOT say that Kernell’s father has verified that the cops are looking at him. He verified that BLOGS are talking about his son being the perpetrator.
There is a lefty blogger in Nashville who has spoken directly to Kernell multiple times, and he says that neither he nor his son have been contacted by the authorities. You can view her post about that here:
http://sharoncobb.blogspot.com/2008/09/regarding-rep-mike-kernell-and-his-son.html
NOTE: I know this blogger. She’s about as far-left as you get (she’s a HUGE fan of Steve Cohen), and she’s got some, shall we say “issues”, but she is otherwise honorable. (As an aside, Cobb used to work for MSNBC and was married to boxer Randall Tex Cobb!)
Anyway, I only mention this, because we are all acting as if we know that the authorities have spoken with Kernell. The Tennessean didn’t say that.

The very last thing we need is to get embarassed by creating a Richard Jewel.
For all I know, the kid did it. But we have NO confirmation of that from the authorities or anyone in the MSM. They aren’t even reporting that he is a subject of investigation. Just that blogs are talking about it.
So Kernell, are you proud of your little criminal? Yes, of course you are. It isn’t a crime to a liberal if the victim is a political enemy.
Ditto,
I live in Boulder !
I’ve got one on my motorcycle, it’s never out of sight, so I’d happily confront anyone who gets near it.
But after the past vandalism to my truck, yard and signs, I don’t put out the signs when I’m not at home, and won’t mark my truck for destruction.
Love being around all these open minded, freedom loving individuals /s
“I’ll wager a dollar to a donut, however, that nothing is done to the kid.”
I’ll wager a dollar to a donut the kid didn’t do it. I bet someone in the Obama campaign did-
Now I know why the Loony left identifies with terrorists so well.
They will sacrafice their kids to the cause, the end always justifies the means, and the flaunt their wickedness for the world to see.
I proudly have my NOBAMA sticker on my truck. So far the comments I have gotten on the sticker is all positive. Lots of people want to know where I got mine.
True, but given the neighborhood where I live, I'm very concerned about what will happen to my family and my house if something happens to The One, or if he loses the election.
If I only had myself to consider, I'd wave it under their noses. But it's not that simple when you are responsible for the safety of other innocent people.
