"...Two officials of the Bush administration say that if Obama had done what the Post story asserted which they believe to be untrue U.S. Ambassador Crocker and embassy officials attending the meeting would have ensured that the Bush administration heard about it immediately. If such an incident occurred in front of officials of the Bush administration, it would have constituted a foreign policy breach and would have been front-page huge news; it would not have leaked out two months later in an op-ed column..."

Obama was quoted saying he did this in a NYT article this past summer.

Yeah, a “State Dept” rep is going to rat out Obama. He probably put him up to it. Also, exactly why would the Iraqi minister make that up.

Let’s review..... this is the administration that refused to investigate all the Clintonian shenanigans and illegal activity and in fact honored Clinton and the official Mrs. in the White House while they had been back-stabbing him at every opportunity. Now of course the Barak/Biden team is already planning to prosecute Bush and company for alleged transgressions without any proof of this.
I used to think Bush was just magnanamous and liked to stay above the fray to show his statemanship...now I believe it’s just political naievete. Amazing that the only republican with gonads turns out to have ovaries!

indeed.. unnamed source... how many times have we seen the MSM using ‘unnamed source’ to pop up the credibility of their story?
I’m sicked an tired of GW Bush anyway - he is a liberal in disguise, because he loves to protect the libs who would slash his throat. He protect the libs who ran down the corporation by bailing out these stupid companies one after another.
I agree with Savage, GW Bush is a socialist for the rich.

...here we have W calling the Iraqi Prime Minister a liar... Key word in the article" "Bush Officials" ... this includes his cooks, the groundskeeper, and the quislings in the State Department. Most likely the latter.
Of course to put this issue to bed, Mr. Bush should just put out an official statement that describes the facts. But he won't ... since it most likely will contain damning remarks about Mr. Obama, and we can't do anything that might digress from setting that 'new tone' in Washington.

Bush is really joke. Maybe he can go out with his father and give another murdering communist a liberty medal. It would be a huge stretch to assume Bush would be competent enough to know if his policy was being undermined.

That's why they don't name names. This story has no credibility.
To: zimfam007
Someone get the quote of the nObama spokesHole stating that HE DID say it! The spokesHole really stepped in it, if this is what they get Lugar to come out and say.

Other than the WOT,the W legacy will be judged by history as the most incompetent since Jimmy Carter and the most damaging since LBJ.Give me BJs in the Oval Office anyday!

Here's my big problem with stories like this. 1. There are no names to refer to in regard to these two, count them, two unnamed sources. 2. The bogus way that two, count them two, represents an entire collective group cracks me up. This is similar to skewed bias polling when a new article says... CONSERVATIVE WOMAN ABANDON McCain PALIN.. The heading is so highly misleading when you read the actual story and find out 1 count it, 1 conservative woman was interviewed and said she would be voting Obama so suddenly all conservative women are abandoning McCain. I swear the Media and all those related are so out of control in this election they are absolutely useless. Until Bush himself comes out saying how he feels about this I'm not allowing two, count them, two un named sources to define his thoughts on this. Especially when this is coming from ABC

I don’t think Bush is always on the ball, but let’s give him a break. This is a bogus story, based on two “anonymous Bush officials,” i.e., absolutely any of the millions of people working in the government.
If it wasn’t entirely made up by the writer of this story.

Compassionate Conservatism in action.
The president has never yet missed a chance to take the side of those who hate him and belittle him and he isn't about to start now.
Of course, he doesn't actually know what was said or not said by Obama.
His normally incompetent State Department officials do not know what was said or not said outside of their presence.
But in making this asinine statement he has definitely removed any possibility of this issue working in McCain's favor.
It seems that whenever the opportunity has been presented President Bush has done what he can to hinder the Republcans in this election.

Its possible, Obama advisers believe, that either Zebari or columnist Taheri confused the Strategic Framework Agreement, which Obama feels should be reviewed by Congress, with the Status of Forces Agreement, which Obama says the Bush administration should negotiate with the Iraqis as soon as possible.Taheri cleared that up beyond all doubt. Obama had to be talking about both since one can't exist without the other.

This shouldn’t be surprising. Bush has always tried to place nice to Democrats, while they nibbled at his knees.
After the Clinton’s trashed the white house leaving, he just quietly had all repaired or replaced, no complaints.
He has yet to really stand against them and they see this as his weakness.
