Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and Adam Goldstein, known as celebrity DJ AM, were critically injured in a fiery Learjet crash in South Carolina that killed four people, authorities said today. The Learjet was taking off shortly before midnight Friday with six people aboard, including two crew members, when air traffic controllers saw sparks. The plane, which was en route to Van Nuys airport, veered off the end of the runway, rolled through a fence and crashed on a nearby road, said Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen. Barker and Goldstein were in critical condition at a burn center in Augusta, Ga., about 75 miles southwest of Columbia, hospital spokeswoman Beth Frits said.

My little brother loves this band - Blink 182. I don't know what the political leanings of these people are but it's just a really sad story.

Travis Barker burned from the waist down. DJ AM’s face burned.

If you’ve ever been to a scene, and observed someone that is screaming and howling in hellish agony from their critical burns, politics suddenly seems very distant.

Pray for those who have major burns. They need all the help that we can give.

Political leanings aside...My daughter is a burn survivor, and it’s a horrible, horrible thing for anyone to go through, physically and emotionally. My prayers are for these two young men’s recovery.

Travis Barker kicks copious amounts of a$$ on the drums. Political leanings are irrelevant — he pretty much shuts up and drums....

Just to clarify, I was stating that I DO NOT think their political considerations matter for serious and awful situations like this. Sorry if there was a misunderstanding. Sad is sad.

Of all the horrible things that can happen to someone, burning has always struck me as the worst. The treatment seems as bad as the incident itself.

Prayers up for these guys.

The tower “seeing sparks” indicates to me either the plane had an engine failure, or the flaps weren’t set for takeoff, and the pilot drug the tail on the runway trying to get it into the air. Can’t really tell for sure from the picture at the source, but the wing flaps on the left wing don’t look like they’re extended at all.

Appearances should not matter. Just a few months ago I went to IL for a wedding of my daughters best friend. I must admit it was the most motley crew I have ever had the pleasure to spend time with.

They were ALL tatted up and piercings but were the most conservative bunch I have talked to. All had families, adored their children, worked hard and were even more PRO McCain that I was at the time. This was before he appointed Palin as his VP.

I have always been a very strong Conservative but these guys taught me a few things. Mainly about how he would do what it took to try and clean up corruption in the White House and stop the GVT waste. Then they taught me something about myself and that was how I tended to judge people.

After the reception I over heard the owners of the place where both the wedding reception and wedding was held. The owners said “I have never seen a more polite and well manner crowd”. They went on to say after 30 years in the business it was the 1st that there was no incident”

Sure made me take a look in the mirror.

Praying for these guys and for Travis that lost his cousin in the crash as well. Burns are horrible, spent a great deal of time at Brooks Army Hospital when my brother was burned severely in Nam.

I avoid them, as I do posters that make moronic comments such as yours.
