The Obama Campaign is giving out names, phone numbers, voter ID numbers, gender and age information to any yahoo who signs up at their web site. I got all the above information for 50 people in the 502 area code.
Here is a quote from that portion of Obama's web page.
In all states, you'll be able to immediately start calling potential supporters. Once you select a campaign on the right, you'll get a list of voters either in your state or in an important battleground state. You can pick up the phone and get calling immediately. Or if you'd prefer to call while you're away from your computer, you can print your list and come back to enter your results.
What is a Voter ID #. Your name and address is not enough?
HUH?!?!
Is this his attempt to make the vote counting process as chaotic as possible?
Shades of ACORN here.
I wonder if this is why my husband is getting a lot of phone calls lately. He’s registered as an independent but he always votes Republican. I am registered as a Republican and no one asks for me—except obnoxious polling groups.
The Obamanoids don’t seem very concerned about the old “privacy” gig they are always whining about.
I wonder how easy it would be to commit voter fraud with that information?
What’s to stop Obama haters from getting those lists and calling people at inconvenient times asking them to vote for Obama?
I imagine these so called “potential supporters” of his would NOT be too happy with Øbama if they knew this was happening!! Perhaps we could let them know?
I don’t even let ‘em get that far - if it says “unknown caller” and they don’t speak within the first 3 seconds after I answer, they get hung up on.
Beats me! But I just looked up an address using the name and phone number.
If I were these people, I'd be pissed!
I would think age, voter ID, and gender would be illegal to pass along indiscrimately.
Fortunately, my caller ID works well. No 800 numbers, blocked numbers, or names I don't recognize. And I hang up gently but authoritatively.
I'm trying to get the word out.
“Shades of ACORN here.”
The problem with the ACORN community organizer tactic of getting in peoples’ faces is that it only works if you have power to impose some consequences on their failure to cooperate. The in-your-face tactic works well with politicians who must face the voters in future elections but I don’t see it working very well with individual voters who vote in private. In fact, I should think it would cause the individual voter to do the exact opposite of what the in-your-face harassing crowd wanted. (But let’s not tell Obama’s minions that, all right?)
I'm seriously thinking of calling these people to let them know, but I'm slightly gutless about calling complete strangers.
One part that isn't readily available is the phone number, so the OBama campaign took the public info (your voter registration info) and paid to have your phone number appended, and then released it.
Nothing to see here; move along.
Nothing, or calling them and asking them to vote McCain...use it against them:)
I need area codes of swing states please, so I can get a list. Thanks:)
Call your local county registar and file a complaint.
The left is already boasting that they (illegally) have Sarah Palin’s social security number (this has been the case for at least a week before the email hack).
“I want you to argue with them (friends, neighbors, Republicans) and get in their face” - Barack Obama in a speech, September 2008
