The selfishness of some older voters (DUmmies HATE "old people" LOL!)
That other place ^ | 09/20/2008 | Buncha Dummies

Posted on 09/20/2008 4:57:14 PM PDT by PhilosopherStones

After bashing the flyovers, the clingers, the hunters, the non-Ivy League, women, apparently the DUmmies now want to lose the "old people" vote (Edited for language, as is always necessary):

OP:"Sometimes, I get pi$$ed off when I realize that older voters that are voting for McCain for all the wrong reasons (racism, age solidarity, etc.) are trying to create a terrible world that they won't have to live in. National debts are going to be passed on to their grandchildren. Having a warhawk in office will mean more young lives lost and possibly a draft or two. Overturning Roe v. Wade will affect millions of young people. Further Wall Street failures will mean fewer jobs and fewer opportunities for the next generation.

And for what? Because some old fogies couldn't accept the fact that the "common wisdom" of their time (that blacks should always be subservient to whites) was utter bull****? Because certain failure by an old white man is preferable to the uncertain "risk" of a young black man? Respect your elders, what a crock of crap. These kinds of people are actively trying to harm us young people and we don't need to respect them or their bigoted dinosaur opinions."

No, but be careful, Mommy and Daddy might make you start to pay rent on that basement room.

6. "they are deathly afraid of minorities"

24. "Don't fault them too much. That's how they were raised. Focus your time being positive and ensuring the youth get out to vote. That will offset these sad old racists soon to die off."

Yeah, get out that youth vote! We know how well that worked in '68, '72, '00 (Oops! Am I showing what an "old person" I am? I must be a racist. Not planning on dying off soon, though.)

27. "So, let's see ...

Divide 'em by gender? Not working. Divide 'em by race? Not working. I know, let's start a war between generations! Grandpa is a selfish racist!"

One DUmmie "gets it".

35. "Older voters

They were the demographic that made it possible for Hitler to do so well in the 1932 election. Believed all his ranting about restoring the Germany of Bismarck."

Wrote the DUmmie with the Che avatar.

Not sure who the bigger "fogies" are: The 70-year-olds who actually lived through and experienced history or the 20-year-olds who think it's still 1932...

I wish that just being born in this country didn’t automatically make you American, because I am shocked and appalled that depraved lunatics like this are my fellow countrymen.

And yet, for all of the ageism, they still will not support individual accounts for Social Security.

Not only are bigots, they are also bad at math...

I read DUmmie FUnnies every day, but haven’t seen it posted here in a long while (maybe I just haven’t checked in a long while).

Don’t mean to step on PJ’s toes, but some of the stuff over there just needs to be posted here occasionally in case we forget what we’re fighting for.

No, they’re not. They’re holding out for enforced, involuntary euthenasia to solve the Social Security problem...

Dear Obama supporter:

These so called older voters lived through the Depression and World War II without complaining. What have you lived through that allows you to criticize their vote?

And that is the second half of their mathematic deficiency, the Baby Boomers are the largest Demographic they will be drawing on Social Security, they are vain and they won’t go gentle into that night...

Basically the morons are pulling money out of their own eventual retirement pockets, giving it to Baby Boomers, then whining when it does happen.

Broke, stupid and railing is no way to go through life..

The biggest McCain fan I know in real life is a 66 year old black Vietnam Vet. I’ll have to send him a link to this DUmmie thread; he’ll learn that not only is he racist but a selfish old guy too!

By the way, you should get on PJ-Comix’s DUmmie FUnnie pinglist so you can be pinged to all of his stuff. :)

I like to go over there occasionally, but it's kind of like going to a gay biker bar. I always feel kind of sick going in, and even sicker going out, and never have my hand too far from a gun.

In all seriousness, for all of you FReepers that never felt the need to own a gun to protect yourself from a fascist government, spend a week on DU. You'll spend the next year's pay on survival gear and ammo. I guarantee it.

Name a commandment,

the left opposes it.

5th commandment - honor your parents (the elderly, your ancestors, etc)

10th commandment - no coveting (tax the rich)
no lying
no stealing (even if you’re using the gov’t to do it)
no murder (BABIES!)
no adultry
no other gods before God
no idols
no using God’s name to promote yourself
keep the Sabbath holy (we’re all guilty of this one)

That’s why I’m glad I’m not 20 any more. The fastest growing job sectors over the next 20 years will be home care for the most spoiled generation in the history of North America.

Imagine having to spoon feed and then change the diapers of some ageing hippie radical for a living. Ewww!

“Overturning Roe v. Wade will affect millions of young people.”

As in give them a chance at life?

These musings were not written by intelligent human beings. These were written by self-absorbed spoiled kids who certainly failed to appreciate the sacrifices of their parents and their parent’s parents.

I seriously doubt that THEIR parents made any sacrifices. We’re taking now about children of the late baby boom who are addicted to immediate gratification, warm fuzzies and a never-ending search for “self”.

Their children have learned what they were taught.

Old people, a group with which I am proud to belong, for the most part, are those who are disenchanted with the choices we’ve ended up with for President. They both belong to the Council on Foreign Relations. They are both far to the left of most of us doddering old fools who still get a tear on the cheek when the red, white and blue passes by.

If we are in any way political, we’ve been there and done that. We’ve learned by our mistakes, as well as those of the government. People have rolled their eyes at us when we’ve tried to warn them of dangerous trends and where they could lead, so we shake our heads and worry about what the future will hold for our children and grandchildren.

And now those things are coming at us fast and furiously. We try to offer an answer why, and we are called delusional by younger people of both parties. Well, maybe after 70 one should just stay off the Internet, keep out of the dialogue. If our experience and wisdom is only to be scoffed at, why throw pearls before swine?

It has been wisely said that if one doesn’t know the history, beware of the future. And unrevised history hasn’t been taught that in schools for a long time now.

Gotta say this while I’m thinking of it.

Regarding the DUmmy’s comment about getting the “youth” vote out. Not everyone should vote as soon as they are old enough to do so. It takes some time to mature as a voter. Not everyone gets there on that birthday that says you are old enough.

... (we’re all guilty of this one)

I'll do penance for my smugness later, but I'm gonna say it anyway.

We're all guilty of most of them at one time or another. The difference is, some repent daily (hourly?) and try to do better. Others just revel in their sinfulness.

Thanks for that.

The problem is that you have to be a certain age before you can appreciate the wisdom of your parents and grand-parents.

Honestly, I don’t think you can become an adult until you become a parent. When you realize that the world is bigger, MUCH bigger than yourself.

But spoiled adolescence is lasting longer and longer, and some people NEVER become adults.

wait until Obama puts out ads aimed at grandmas saying, “If McCain gets elected, if your granddaughter gets raped, she’ll have to have the rapist’s baby.”

It’s gonna happen in one form or another. They just dropped the level at the bottom of the barrel.

Of course, Obama won’t run his other ads when the elderly are still up, telling the younger crowd that he’ll be sponsoring govt-supported euthanasia as an option, so that old folks won’t be a burden on the restof us. Hell, if it’s like his view on taxes, old people will have a patriotic duty to off themselves.

And Obama is going to pay it off by giving away $850 BILLION to the UN and increasing government spending in every arena except the military?
