The author of Brokeback Mountain, which was turned into an Oscar-winning film starring the late Heath Ledger, has complained that the tale is now a “source of constant irritation” in her life.

Annie Proulx, 73, has been pestered with “pornish” letters sent by fans of the book about two cowboys and their illicit homosexual passions in America’s conservative Midwest.

When the story was published in 1999, it was praised for its delicate handling of homophobia. However, some critics felt Miss Proulx could have gone further in describing the love shared between the two main characters.

homosexual passions in America’s conservative Midwest.

Only dumb*ss Brit journalists, John Kerry and Hussein Osama would think Wyoming is in the Midwest.

Someone should tell her that when you swim in the sewer you don’t get to complain about the smell.

If ‘source of constant irritation’is akin to ‘pain in the ar$e’ than that means you are doing “it” the wrong way.

I haven’t read it or seen the flick, but it all sounds like it was written by a faghag. True?

The bottom line is she wrote a piece of pornography and she will never escape that marginalization.

What did she expect with something she intentionally wrote to praise abnormal behavior?

Yes. Sadly, the jokes on this topic almost write themselves (if you have the stomach to read them).

Of course! Liberals "put themselves" in for awards, just like Algore, including the Nobel.

Even newer chant: YOU WILL KNOW WATCH WHAT WE DO IN OUR BEDROOM! On the billboards! In the movies! On the internet, and in snickering asides on most tv shows! Books, magazines, and in the elevator - YOU’RE GOING TO HEAR ABOUT IT.

And if you don’t like it, you are mentally ill.

I don’t know, but I wouldn’t watch it either. I don’t need perverted images in my mind. It’s hard enough to avoid them as it is, I’m not going to go seek them out , for sure.

I noticed that too....Wyoming, in the MidWest? Must have been one helluva earthquake.

The British are as clueless of our geography as they are about our politics.

And I want to know what really happened between Roy Rogers and trigger on those lonely nights on the prairie.
