“I fear someday Bill Clinton will be a Republican.”

Maelstorm, you’re the first person I’ve heard say that...and I believe it could happen...Bill’s pissed over not getting to go live in the White House with Hillary....he’s capable of anything now.

Might be more of a reflection on the Republicans than on bill.

“I fear someday Bill Clinton will be a Republican.”

If that happens, then you will know that the Republican Party has split.

Neither Bill or Hill want the Obomination to win.

It's Hill's turn. He wants HER in the WH. If the Obominatin would get in, that might lead to two terms and then it's unlikely that Hill would have a shot. If the Obomination loses, then the old battle axe will run again in four years.

Not going to happen, they realize the democratic party they have served so long is now some sort of unrecognizable monster/ No matter if Obama wins or lose Hillary will return with what McCain is doing now, this isn't the way the party is supposed to be and we are going to go shake it up and make it what it used to be like when my hubby was president. Prediction...taking bets? LOL

"Hey RATS-Why don’t you ram it, cram it, jamb it and slam it up your liberal ass!

I changed Chris Rock to RATS. I like that, can I use it as a tag line?

“I fear someday Bill Clinton will be a Republican. Don’t be surprised to have him speak at a GOP convention someday.”

And I thought I was the only one who thought this.

The Clintons, especially Bubba and his legacy, don’t want to be too closely tied to a loser.

If you can get past his colorful language, he says things that no one else dares say.

Although he can say some stupid vicious things in burnishing his liberal credentials, you're right on with your comment. Did you see the HBO special in which he complained about how taxes are too high? I seem to recall nervous, uncertain laughter from the audience :-)

Why is the Clintons’ support of Obama so tepid and muted?

Maybe because the Obama campaign made consistent efforts to cast Bill Clinton as a racist. They held back no low blows trying to prevent the still popular Bill Clinton from helping his wife's campaign during the primary.

If you run an ugly primary campaign, don't be surprised whan your opponents and those you smeared along the way don't show you undying love during the general election.

It's an issue of statesmanship. Be careful how you treat opponents who's help you may need in the future.

Democrats act like it's Republicans that don't know how to be statesmen, but it is generally the elitist liberals that can't deal with dissent in a civil manner.

It is because at it's core, liberalism requires blind faith. Advocates of blind faith can't tolerate dissent.

I don't know if it is the Clintons (I think I hope not!), but the Republican Party is going to have to do something in the long-term about the collapse of its appeal to the professional classes. Even with President McCain, we may enter January 2007 with zero Republican House members from the greater metro regions of New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles and San Francisco. In the long run politics is about ideas, and there's no future for us if people who work with ideas for a living by and large reject us.

I shouldn’t forget about Peter King! He’s pretty safe, so at least we’ll have one!

I fear someday Bill Clinton will be a Republican. Don’t be surprised to have him speak at a GOP convention someday.

What has not been discussed much is what is happening within the democrat party and the fight that is going on. If Obama wins then yes, I see a lot of people leaving that party for good because that faction is to radical for normal people to want to be part of.

I saw some polls tonight that should be very concerning for Obama. As much as 26 percent of Hillary supporters are now supporting McCain. You are right the Democrat party has marginalized itself. It has tied itself and its power to America losing. It has positioned itself against the very values that this country was founded on. It is really unfortunate.

Well the way to do that is start fighting harder for the hearts and minds of metro areas. Start offering alternatives to the high taxes and big government that is strangling those areas. We don’t do enough outreach. I don’t want those areas if they are going to be liberal Republicans beholden to ideas of big government and social liberalism. As for the appeal to the professional classes I’d have to disagree. I’m a professional and work with a company full of professionals which largely favor the GOP. Also there has been a slow shift in colleges, the students are actually more conservative than their counterparts of 10-20 years ago. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the kids right out of college and they are impressive. We will take back the urban centers when they fall that is why it is so important that we fight the socialism of propping up failure.
